Steht das wirklich so doppelt drin, in der /etc/modprobe.d/sound?!
Das ist ein Fehler!

Falls ja:
Alles löschen, (den Inhalt der Datei) neustarten und mit yast die Soundkarte einstellen.
Dann sollte es eigentlich funktionieren.
Zum Vergrößern anklicken....

es sind je zwei Textdateien eine nennt sich Sound.- odr nur Sound - und die andere nennt sich sound. Trotzdm löschen?

Kopiere die Dateien einmal in Dein Home.
Just in case...!
Danach löscht du eine der Beiden in /tec/modprobe.d/.
Die andere öffnest Du mit einem Texteditor und leerst den Inhalt.
Danch neustarten und mit yast versuchen eine Soundkarte einzurichten.
Schnelles Setup sollte genügen.

PS: Was meintest Du vorhin mit "Z3 Logitech"?
Hast Du 2 Soundkarten im Rechner?

Hast Du vielleicht einmal ein SUSE Update gemacht, das die zwei Soundeinstell-Dateien erzeugt hätte?

Also Habe das ganze Ausprobiert....... :lol:
:shock: und mir ist der Rechner bei 60% im Yast abekrazt...
Sprich habe die Dateien gesichert und gelöscht zusätzlich noch die von meiner TV Karte.... Habe geschaut ob die Karte noch angezeigt wird als Installiert.... war nicht der Fall.... habe danach neu gestartet...... und habe danach die Karte (oder anders den Onboard Chip) versucht einzurichten..... Ging alles gut.... Schnelles Setup ausgewählt..... Geschaut das er mir nen Treiber anzeigt.... weiter geklickt....... Hat das Soundsystem angefangen neu zu Starten und bei 60% ist mir der sch..... schöne Chip abgekrazt.......will heißen als bei 60%(Sprich beim Start des Soundsystems) 10min nichts passiert ist hab ich das Ding für Tod erklärt und wieder neu gestartet. .... Was nun? Wie bekomme ich das Raus? Habe von Suse 9.2 auf 10.0 geupgradet...? Keine Ahnung ob ich da was doppelt drin habe unter Yast Schreit er auf alle Fälle nicht das es ein Paketproblem gäbe.....

Dieser Datei lediglich den Inhalt löschen, nicht die ganze Datei.

Und warum machst Du das mit der TV Karte?

Das mit dem System-Update ist immer so eine Sache, siehe Deine 2 Dateien in
/etc/modprobe.d/....

Wie es um deine Soundtreiber bestellt ist, siehst Du in diesem Verzeichnis und mit den Befehlen, die ich Dir weiter oben gennant habe.
Hat Yast noch eine neue Datei angelegt bzw. den Inhalt geschrieben, bevor es "abgekratzt" ist?

Hmm also gespeichrt hat Yast die Einstellungen wohl Problem war halt Yast hat den Neustart der Karte nicht hinbekommen. Es ist die modprobe.d/sound noch d und es steht auch Inhalt drin wie bei der Sound- die ich dir beim ersten auslesen genannt habe.

als root auf der Shell versuchen den Sound einzurichten. Ist manchmal besser als sich auf Yast zu verlassen. :wink:

Sowohl mit SuSE9.3 als auch mit 10.0.

@CrazyNobbi: Stop!

Die von mir geposteten Infos aus lsmod sind als Beispiel gedacht und stammen von einem Abit Board! Ist zwar auch Intel 8x0 und Intel chipsatz 875, aber der genaue verwendete Soundchip könnte durchaus ein anderer sein. Gerade bei den AC97 gibt es einige.

Die Infos von meinem ASUS P4P800 Deluxe werde ich jedoch heute noch holen. Auf Diskette, da der Rechner in meinem Hobbyraum steht, und der ist 2 Häuser weiter.

Dann stell ich das mal alles hier dazu. Da dürft ihr dann vergleichen, da der Sound auf dieser Maschine läuft unter der SUSE 9.3. :wink:

Zusatzinfos:

- Im yast keine besonderen Einstellungen bei Sound.

- Die /etc/modprobe.D/sound enthält nur 2 Zeilen!
Also auch keine Leer- oder Kommentarzeilen.

- Sound wurde mit " alsaconf " konfiguriert.

- KMix hat viele Einstellungen auch in Bezug auf
Kopieren von Front zu Rear + Center/Sub
Möglichkeiten zur Wahl der Ausgänge usw.

Vielleicht bringt es ja was. :wink:

Sieht eigentlich alles sehr ähnlich aus, mit einer Ausnahme - der IRQ. Steht bei Dir auf 10, bei mir auf 201.
Wenn ich in der Konfiguration im yast die Soundkarte "ICH5" auswähle und bearbeiten anklicke, schmiert mir das Bearbeitungsfenster sofort ab. Keine Ahnung, wie ich sonst an den IRQ-Parameter komme.

Schau auch ob wirklich alle Kanäle im Mixer offen sind. Vor allem der pcm.

Mache einmal das ALSA Setup auf der Konsole als root durch:

Was den IRQ angeht: Die hohe Zahl kommt von acpi, wegen Interrupt Sharing. Funktioniert bei mir aber gut.
Das heisst, Du hast wahrscheinlich noch etwas auf dem PCI Bus das denselben IRQ hat.

Wie siehts mit dem Mixer aus?
spdif deaktiviert, oder gar genutzt? Lautsprecher auch an den geschalteten Ausgängen angeschlossen.
Teste einmal ein bisschen mit KMix herum.

So also ich hab auch mal wieder ein wenig rumgetestet und habe das ganze einfach mal mit dem alsoconfic durchlaufen lassen und bei mir gab es ebenfalls keinen Testsound aber mir ist aufgefallen das in der

Ich sehe auf den ersten Blick keine falschen Einstellungen, bis vielleicht die 4 Boxen als Ausgang, kann ich aber nicht abschliessend beurteilen.


Was aber mein System definitiv von Deinem/Eurem unterscheidet ist die ALSA Version:

Wenn ich es richtig sehe, habt ihr beide die Version von Packman
1.0.10pm und ich habe die von SUSE noch am laufen.

Denn von den Einstellungen her stimmt eigentlich alles soweit.
Probiert mal noch aus die Boxen umzustecken, der Onboard Sound des ASUS hat die Möglichkeit, die Ausgänge über die Treiber/Mixersoftware zu steuern. Dann immer den Speaker Test laufen lassen.
Ihr könnt auch noch das testen:
Sounddevices anzeigen: (und Inforamtionen hierzu)

Das tail -20 begrenzt die Ausgabe auf die letzten 20 Zeilen.

Auch wäre denkbar die neueste ALSA Version zu installieren und es mit dieser zu testen.

Die Müsste eigentlich auch schon verwendbar sein.

Hm.., hilft irgendwie alles nix, selbst ein Update auf alsa 1.0.11rc2 hat den Zustand nicht verändert :(
Irgendwie werde ich den Verdacht nicht los, daß es mehrere verschiedene Revisionen des Intel-Chips geben muß.
Ein Teil der Leute berichtet von Null Problemen mit diesem Chip, ein anderer Teil der Leute (leider auch ich) bekommt das auch mit Klimmzügen nicht hin.
Daß jemand mit unserem Problem schonmal geschafft hat den Sound an den Start zu bekommen, habe ich noch nirgens gelesen...
Merkwürdig ist nur, daß der Sound unter Knoppix z.B. absolut problemlos läuft. Allerdings wird da OSS anstelle von alsa verwendet (wenn ich nicht irre).
