Es haengt auch nicht direkt an KDE .... Gerade eben den ersten Vollformatfestfresser mit xfce gehabt :erschreckt: :down:

P.S.: Und dann hab ich gerade mal aus KDE heraus mit 'Switch User' eine zweite Session gestartet ... Dabei hatte sich bisher die Oberflaeche (IIRC zuverlaessig) verabschiedet ... hat funktioniert.
Es ist mysterioes. Manchmal kann man lange stoerungsfrei arbeiten, mal (siehe vorhin mit xfce) frisst sich das System relativ schnell :irre:

hiho, ich häng mich mal ans thema dran,

ich hab das gleiche Problem auf einem ASUSU eeepc 1101HA netbook.
ich nutz opensuse 11.2 mit kde 4.3 und den graKa-Treiber für die GMA500.

Beobachtung: seit ich auf Compiz als Windowmanager (vorher KWin ohne Desktopeffekte) gewechslelt bin tritt das nicht mehr so häufig auf.

Hmm,.. ok.. also erstmal hab ich ein notebook und eine ATI Mobiliti Radeon X700 ... nicht gerade berauschend, ich weis^^

Naja, jedenfalls habe ich seit dem ich die Desktopeffekte ausgeschaltet habe, keinen einzigen Absturz mehr gehabt... kann natürlich auch Zufall sein.

Bei mir laeufts heute auch recht gut, den ganzen Vormittag lief die Kiste ohne Unterbrechung und ohne Feststecken. Nur eben heute frueh einmal :???:

Ok, ich habe jetzt einige Tage die Desktopeffekte deaktiviert gehabt und hatte nicht einen einzigen Crash mehr. Vielleicht liegt es ja an meiner etwas alten Grafikkarte. Die soll nämlich teilweise Probleme mit OpenGL haben, wie ich erfahren habe...
Naja, jedenfalls wäre es dann für mich jetzt erstmal erledigt.

P.S.: Ich hatte den Eindruck, es sei in der letzten Woche seltener gewesen ... Nachdem beim Bootvorgang bemaengelt wurde, dass cpufreq nicht unterstuetzt wuerde, habe ich es in den Grub-Optionen auf =no eingetragen, ob das was geholfen hat?? Die komplette Loesung ist es definitiv nicht, aber vll hilfts das Problem einzukreisen ... :???:

Habe das Problem auch, so ähnlich, kann dann auch nur noch die Maus bewegen und auf dem Bildschirm sind bunte Streifen.

Habe auch eine Nvidia-Karte, einmal ausprobiert mit nv-treibern und einmal mit prop. Treibern. Ändert sich nichts.

Wie bei euch, mal läuft es Stunden gut, dann geht wieder nichts mehr.

Hmm, also das mit den bunten Streifen hatte ich jetzt auch schon öfters.
Mir ist aufgefallen, dass mein Notebook ein riesiges Problem mit OpenGL hat. Die Desktopeffekte liefen bei mir über OpenGL, sodass deswegen ständig mein System abschmierte. Und in 3D Spielen ist es genauso. Ich kann kein einziges Spielen. Dann gibt's wieder nur Streifen. :irre:
Ich habe jetzt vorläufig alles auf Software- oder XRenderer umgestellt. - Ist zwar langsam und unschön, aber sehr zuverlässig.
Ich werde jetzt mal versuchen mir die neusten Grafiktreiber und OpenGL was-weiß-ich zu ziehen, vielleicht klappt's dann besser.

Nachdem sich auch nach x Updates nix gebessert hat an diesem Punkt, habe ich jetzt bei uns mal den Default Boot-Modus auf 'Failsafe' gesetzt.
Falls das was helfen sollte, kann man ja vll mal versuchen, einzugrenzen, welche der mit 'Failsafe' einhergehenden Optionen hier nun hilft ... :???:

Ich hab das Thema momentan im Griff, um den 'Preis', dass ich mir einen speziellen Bootloader-Eintrag 'test' angelegt und auf default gesetzt habe.

Ausgehend von den Optionen, die bei 'failsafe' drinstehen, versuche ich nun, Schritt fuer Schritt Einschraenkungen zu entfernen, in der Hoffnung, dass die Dose dann immer noch laeuft ohne sich festzufressen (und die funktionalen Einbussen dann reduziert werden).

Die Kernel-Parameter unter 'Failsafe' sind wie folgt:

Auffaelligster Funktionsverlust im Moment: Der Screensaver samt Bildschirmsperre startet nicht, es gibt einen Segfault und eine Fehlermeldung stattdessen.

Moeglicherweise hilft das irgendwem, der mit aehnlichen Problemen kaempft, und ich waere natuerlich dankbar, wenn weitere Kernelparameter als 'unbedenklich' identifiziert werden koennten.

So, jetzt ist die Dose mal ziemlich lange gelaufen (durchgaengig seit letztem Posting), ich hab sogar gepennt zwischendurch, aber dann hat sie sich doch wieder gefressen.

Mit den Klammergriffgeschichten [Alt] + [Druck/Schaisze abfeuern] + [R, E, I, S, U, B] hab ich die Kiste tatsaechlich irgendwann zum Reboot gebracht, aber ein richtiger Erfolg war das nicht ... Mein spezieller 'test'-Eintrag fuer den Bootloader wurde mit zerschossen und ich musste ihn neu anlegen :nosmile:

Ja, mache ich mal bei Gelegenheit ... Ist nur schwierig, den Rechner braucht meine Frau staendig produktiv. Und er geht besser als der im Buero, ob das daran liegt, dass die sich im Buero nur das OS ohne Namen ( :igitt: ) leisten koennen? :p :D (Duck-und-weg)

Einfach das Paket 'memtest86+' installieren, ein entsprechender Eintrag in Deinem boot-Menü wird meiner Erinnerung nach automatisch angelegt. Dann: reboot, memtest statt SuSE auswählen und ruhig mal über Nacht laufen lassen (memtest läuft in einer Schleife, ein einzelner Durchgang ist nicht aussagekräftig).

Genau, ich habe auf dem betroffenen Rechner jetzt memtest+ 4.00 von der Linux-DVD 11.2 gestartet.
Es gab da keine grosse Abfrage bezueglich irgendwelcher Optionen, und es laeuft jetzt seit einer knappen Stunde.

Wie vorgeschlagen lasse ich es bis morgen frueh in Frieden vor sich hinwursteln, dann wissen wir hoffentlich mehr.
