So, musste wegen einem Systemzusammenbruchs neu installieren. mit dem Kernel "2.6.31.5-0.1" scheint es wohl relativ stabil zu laufen.
Schaun mer mal.

@ mkossmann: Was willst du mir damit sagen?
  • Oder kann kannt, wie farcaster vorgeschlagen, die "Do it yourself"-Methode probieren und versuchen, einen gefixten Treiber selbst einzubauen.
Dann sag mal wie.

  • Oder auf dein Glück vertrauen und hoffen, das jemand im Rahmen eines anderen Bugfixes dein Problem mitbeseitigt.
Ich spiele auch Lotto.........

Oh, berichte doch vielleicht mal, ob es dabei bleibt - bei mir treten die Probleme zumindest mit 2.6.31.8-0.1 auf, zu früheren Versionen kann ich leider nichts sagen...

Immerhin sind meine Verbindungsabrüche jetzt schön regelmäßig: alle 2 Min. "disassociating" und "authenticated" :irre:

Die gute Nachricht: die ath9k-Problematik ist bei bugzilla bekannt.
Als gewissen workaround gibt es definitive Hinweise, dass ein 2.6.32 Kernel deutliche Verbesserungen bringt (z.B. aus Factory - wie weiter oben bereits vorgeschlagen)!

Die schlechte Nachricht: so richtig nachhaltig scheint die Problemlösung nicht zu sein, und wenn man die "Qualitätsentwicklung" des ath9k allein bei bugzilla verfolgt, scheint es immer wieder unerwartete Einbrüche bei neuen Kernel-Versionen zu geben.

Gegen ein "Kernelupgrade" außer der Reihe spricht für mich allerdings, dass ich auf meinem Produktivrechner gerne das "Standardsystem" einer Distri möchte und keine fragile Speziallösung - so klasse diese grundsätzliche Lösungsmöglichkeit gerade unter Linux auch ist!

Mir war vor dem Laptopkauf bereits klar, dass Atheros Probleme bei Linux bereiten kann, und hatte das auch auf meiner Prüfliste - aber irgenddwie habe ich es dann bei der doch großen Streubreite der Hardwareausrüstung mancher Laptopserien aus den Augen verloren. Hatte mich eigentlich auf eine Intel-Karte eingestellt...

Wie man sieht scheint ein Kartenwechsel möglicherweise die nachhaltigste Lösung zu sein - leider habe ich nach Aufstemmen meines Laptops die Karte nicht zugänglich gefunden, muss da noch etwas forschen...

Noch gebe ich nicht völlig auf, werde zunächst mal das BIOS updaten und dann versuchen, ob es über LinuxWireless mit einem Treiberupdate klappt :roll:

Tach auch,
das merkwürdige an der Geschichte ist, das die Verbindung manchmal nach 5-10 min. weg ist, andererseits stundenlang stabil ist.(so wie jetzt ca. 2,5 Std.) Ich habe jetzt per "iwconfig" das Powermanagement auf "off" gesetzt und den Router mal etwas anders platziert. (Steht ein Telefon daneben)
Mal sehen wie's weitergeht.

Edit: Wo zum Teufel speichert iwconfig die Einstellungen????? Nach einem Neustart ist alles wieder beim Alten.

Die Sache mit dem Treiberupdate der compat-wireless-Treiber über linuxwireless.org lässt sich gut an! Vorgegangen wie hier beschrieben, also aktuellen tarball runtergeladen, ausgepackt und dann:

sudo ./scripts/driver-select ath9k
sudo make
sudo make install
sudo make unload

dann neugestartet: schnelle und konstante Verbindung ohne jegliche Aussetzer seit nunmehr 2 Stunden! :D

Wichtig: Kernelheader müssen installiert sein! Der korrekte Symlink wurde bei mir allerdings erst gesetzt, nachdem ich bei Yast2 unter dem Schema "Development" folgendes ausgewählt hatte:
  • Base Development
    C/C++ Development
    Linux Kernel Development

Ist wohl sicherlich totaler Overkill, da sämtliche Kernelquellen geladen werden, aber die Installation der Kernelheader, des Compilers und make allein hat leider nicht funktioniert...

Ok - werde in den nächsten Tagen mal das Funkgerät etwas quälen, mal sehen ob die Aktion nachhaltig war.

So, bin ja zäh und bleibe dran. Habe das hier: http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/acer-extensa-5635z-wlan-verbindungsprobleme-m/?highlight=5635z#post-2325653 gefunden. Die Sache mit den Backports ist ja nicht möglich bei Suse, aber das Umstellen auf "nur" WPA2 hat mir etwas Geschwindigkeit und ein stabiles Wlan (bis jetzt) gebracht.
Auch ich beobachte weiter. :roll:

Tja, soeben wieder ein Wlanzusammenbruch und Sysfreeze.....shit. Also weitersuchen und lesen. :???:

Edit: Habe den Router (Fritz 7141) jetzt ganz anders platziert. Vorher laut NM-Applet zw.21-37% jetzt 48-54%.
Ich denke, ich beende das hier mal, da es in meinem Fall wohl auf den Standort des Routers ankam. Falls es wieder zu einem Wlan-Breakdown kommen sollte, werde ich das nochmal neu posten.
Thanx farcaster für deine Tips, aber mit der Installanleitung kam ich iwie nicht klar, lag aber wahrscheinlich an mir. Jedenfalls bist du kein newbie.
Ich bleibe auf jeden Fall hier dabei, auch wenn mein Hauptrechner Ubuntu fährt. Ist auch ein prima Forum hier.

Hi Volks, ich hab's nun nach dieser Anweisung gebacken bekommen. Schaut hier: http://www.linux-club.de/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=107127 ,
und mit Einbindung dieses Repos http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/driver:/wireless/11.2-update/ installiert.
Laut Netzwerkmanager nun um 90% Verbindungsstärke bei 54 Mb/s. Auch gefühlt seeeeeehr schnell und vor Allem stabil.
Ganz ehrlich, ich hatte einen gewissen Bammel davor, diesen Treiber zu installieren. ( Bin ja auch nicht mehr der Jüngste) Da's aber funzt und auch meine Frau darüber glücklich ist, hat sich der Ausflug gelohnt. :D
Also an Alle, die das Gleiche Problem haben, auf jeden Fall antesten.

:D Hihi, danke für die Blumen - aber wie man sieht: bei Suse bin auch ich noch Newbie (komme von Ubuntu) - letztlich haben wir beide das gleiche auf unterschiedlichen Wegen gemacht, ich habe meinen Treiber mühsam "per Hand" auf einen akzeptablen Stand gebracht, und Du hast das ganze komfortabel über ein passendes Repo gemacht. Grmblbrnft$!?§! :zensur: Genau soetwas hatte ich auch gesucht!

Ich bin ja nach einer Woche Testbetrieb noch einen abschließenden Bericht schuldig und sage es mit Stromberg:"Läuft!" Ob NFS-Freigaben im lokalen Netz oder DVD-Imagedownload aus dem Internet - die Verbindung blieb konstant auf hohem Niveau! Also auch für mich ist das Problem gelöst!

Örgs! Muss mich leider korrigieren: nach einem angebotenen update über das Repo ist die Leistung wieder rapide in den Keller gegangen. Wieder Verbindungsabbrüche und max. Verbindungsgeschwindigkeiten von 1 Mbit. Habe wieder mein oben beschriebenes Prozedere durchgezogen: alles wieder prima. Empfehle also, zunächst das Repo wieder zu deaktivieren...

Ähnliches Problem gehabt. Habe dann auch händisch nochmal aktuallisiert und es läuft wieder. Kann die Empfehlung nur bestätigen, das Repo erst einmal wieder zu deaktivieren.
