SMARTCTL: => Scannt Hdd nicht

Hi,

laut meiner Messages Datei habe ich auf meinen SATA Platten viele I/O Error's.

Um es zu Überprüfen, ob die Platten defekte Sektoren haben oder ob einfach nur der Controller Defekt ist, wollte ich einen HDD Sektor Test starten lassen.

LEider bricht smartctl SOFORT ab. Schreibt zwar, das es bis 16 Uhr dauern wird (also 4h) aber dem ist nicht so. Nach einer Sekunde ist die Überprüfung beendet.

Smart ist aktiviert.

Blöd ist, das die Platte anscheinend nicht in der Datenbank ist. Was aber nicht zu bedeuten hat, das smartctl kein Test machen kann. Oder doch (?)

Eigendlich sollte man doch meinen, das man ein Test (egal welchen) mal machen kann. Aber wie gesagt. Sofortiger Abbruch:

Puh das schon ewig her das ich das letzte Mal damit gearbeitet habe, aber gab es da nicht eine Datei namens smartd.conf wo man die Variablen festlegen konnte,oder verwechsel ich da was ?

Ich würde das gar nicht mit smart machen, sonder mit der
www.ultimatebootcd.com
Der IBM/Hitachi Drive Fitness Test dort ist sehr gut. Funktioniert auch bei anderen Platten.

ja... das ist die Datei, die für die Platten zuständig sind. Wenn ich es aber in den manuells richitg gelesen habe, ist die Datei nur für die automatische Prüfung. Also wenn Smart permanent läuft. Bei einen manuellen Test brauch er diese wohl nicht.
Aber ich werde sciherheitshalbe dort mal die Platte "hinterlegen"

Ja.. sicherlich. Das hätte ich auch testen können. Werd ich evtl auch mal machen. Allerdings wollte ich schon gern, das das Linux selbst macht...
Wenn ich von der UniBoot boote, habe ich dessen Treiber + Kernel. Wenn es also daran leigt, wird es mir nicht allzuviel bringen.

durchgelesen... Anweisungen umgestezt. Kein weiteren Erfolg.
Die Platte sogar umountet. Aber das gleichein Grün.

Mal was anderes... es wurde gesagt:

smartd protokolliert seine Statusmeldungen und Fehlermeldungen im Syslog, was beispielsweise auf Wunsch im Fehlerfall ein Informieren per E-Mail möglich macht.

in /var/log/ finde ich eine solche Log nicht. Ist damit die Messages gemeint ?

hmm... nun habe ich fast alle howtos im web gelesen.

ich glaube, es liegt daran, das die Pallten noch nicht in der Datenbank drin ist. Der Hersteller gibt zwar die Möglichkeit seine HDD einzutragen... aber da fragt sich es, wann diese implantiert wird. Naja.. mal schaun. Hab meine HDD Daten erstmal gemeldet.


Mit der smartd.conf hab ich allerdings noch ein Problem bzw. eine Frage.

Laut Anleitung unterstützt Smartd SATA platten nur bedingt. Hierzu soll in der Conf

/dev/sda -a -d sat
oder
/dev/sda -a -d ata

eingetragen werden.

Beides habe ich versucht bzw. eingetragen. Mit smartd -q onecheck
kann man seine conf testen.

S-ATA platte werden nun erkannt und anscheinend weiter untern auch eingebunden. Oben tauchen aber Fehler auf. KAnn die einer verifizieren ?

Ich vermute aber mal, das wenn es nicht in der Datenbank ist, das das Programm dann "schlapp" macht.

Mal schaun, was die Zeit bringt. Hoffe ja, das der DB eintrag bald nachgeholt wird. Ist ja schließlich schon fast ne alte Platte. Mit 320 Gb

Stimmt... hab ich garnicht gepostet.

Aber die inkompatibilität bei den Distris hab ich auch schon gelesen.

Und nein = habe keine von den in Verwendung

Wieso Abbruch? Hast du ne Fehlermeldung? Nein! Also warte 9600 Sekunden, und guck dann im SMART-Log nach dem Ergebnis. (smartctl -a)

jupp.. mittlerweile hab ich das auch rausgelesen.
Dachte damals, das er dort den Scannvorgang anzeigt.


Aber nichts desso trotz = scannt totzdem nicht.
Log ist leer bzw. wird nichts angezeigt. Und wenn man zwischendurch den Status abfragen will, so hat dieser bisher nie angefangen.
