X benötigt 100% CPU Leistung

Hi,

bin mir nicht sicher ob ich hier im richtigen Thema bin...aber ich versuchs mal hier.

Linux wird immer mal wieder total langsam. Ich hab dann mal mit "top" nachgeschaut, was da los ist und gesehen, dass X in diesen Phasen zwischen 80 und 100% CPU leistung braucht.


Das ist also das erste Problem:
Warum braucht X soviel?

Das 2. Problem ist dann, warum wird der Rechner langsamer. Ich hab nen Intel quad core. insofern müsste er noch Kerne für anedere Programme überhaben, aber so wies aussieht benutzt er die gar nicht.

Ich hoffe ihr habt ne idee.

Ich habe so ein ähnliches Problem, Stellenweise bricht die Leistung komplett ein.
Dauert zwar nicht lange aber mein Laptop arbeitet an sich sehr sehr schnell mit Linux (schneller als mit windows aber glaube das ist ganz normal)
aber dann manchmal fängt er an zu arbeiten da glaubt man alles würde durchbrennen, wenn das dann fertig ist (ein paar secunden) läuft der Rechner wieder wie gewohnt.

Ehe jetzt jemand sag das ich Beta-User bin... das problem tritt auch in 10.3 mit der KDE3 auf, und natürlich jetzt auch mit der version 11.0beta2+ und kde 4.0.4 (und allem was dazwichen war...)

habe punkto CPU einen singleCore Centrino mit 1,86ghz

Ich hab mal mit less /proc/cpuinfo geguckt was er denn für prozessoren erkennt.
er hat wohl alle 4 aber irgendwie benuzt er sie nich...

ich habe auch irgendwo das gefühlt als würde er für meinen Processor auch nur 800mhz benutzten... (mein Prozessor kann ja wärend der Arbeit seine Frequnez ändern)

komisch die ganze geschichte, es ist aber auch bei mir X der die CPU 100% auslastet :-(

hier läuft aber auch noch irgendwas andres schief...
hab grad versucht nen Film per Avidemux zu schneiden.
Avidemux braucht gute 10-15 minuten bis es reagiert...
ein bisschen viel wie ich finde...
10-15 sekunden wär ok :)

Vom Xorg.log wären wenn dann nur Fehlermeldungen (EE) interessant.

Beobachte mal in top, ob die Prozessorlast nun weiter von X ausgeht, oder von compiz, falls es denn noch auftritt.
