Kontrollleiste geht nicht über den gesamten Bildschirm

Guten Tag,

Ich habe an meinen Laptop (DELL Inspiron 1520 mit NVIDIA 8400M GS) einen Monitor per D-Sub angeschlossen. Die Monitore (Laptop und "externer") laufen im "seperate x screen"-Modus.

Mein Problem:
Nach einem Upgrade des externen Monitors von 20" auf ein Modell mit 24" geht die Kontrollleiste nicht mehr über den ganzen Bilsschirm. Rechts oben ist ein Stück schwarz. Im kcontrol sind jedoch 100% eingestellt. Programme lassen sich auch ganz "normal" maximieren (der ganze Bildschirm wird genutzt).
Außer bei VLC, der lässt sich nur bis zum "Ende" der Kontrollleiste maximieren. Eine Einstellungssache in der xorg.conf?

Hat jemand einen Lösungsvorschlag? :(

a) dachte erst an die positionierung der beiden bildschirme, die neu angepasst werden sollte. Die scheint aber ok zu sein.

b) Mich wundert nur, dass der Laptop screen nicht erkannt ist ("Monitor0"). "Monitor[0]" war ja wohl die erste Konfiguration des Laptop monitors.

c) Ich denke nicht, dass diese Frequenzen stimmen. Schau mal in deiner 24"-er Beschreibung aber ich denke das hier kommt wohl eher hin.

HorizSync 31.0 - 83.0
VertRefresh 55.0 - 76.0

d) Diese Zeile finde ich verwirrend, da ja twinview nicht aktiviert ist, sondern 2 X server laufen. Könnte es sein, dass dadurch die screens teilweise übereinander gelagert werden?

Hört die Kontrollleiste bei 1680 pixeln auf? Versuch mal ohne diese Zeile ...

e) Eventuell sind auch noch infos in der datei ~/.nvidia-settings-rc gespeichert, die den alten Monitor betreffen. Einfach mal löschen - wird automatisch wieder neu angelegt.


Sind leider keine eindeutigen Lösungen, nur Vermutungen, aber sicherlich ein Ansatz.

danke für deine überlegungen :)

ya 1680 pixel kommt hin, ich habe die entsprechende zeile mal auskommentiert, leider ohne veränderung...
also nimmt er für die taskleiste wieder die breite des leppi-monitors, hm. ist mir noch gar nicht so aufgefallen ^^

die nvidia-setting-rc hab ich ebenfalls gelöscht, tut sich auch nix :(

mir fällt gerade beim durchblättern des nvidi-settings teils, dass die graka ständig auf "performance level 2" läuft, sprich mit den taktraten für den 3d modus. da ich aber compiz und co nicht aktiviert, habe sollte das doch nicht so sein...
dazu noch jemand ein geistesblitz? :D
ich geh ma googlen.....
nur mit einem monitor taktet die graka sich korrekt runter, mit zweien jedoch verharrt sich auf 400 mhz, komisch....
