Ich möchte gern die Arbeitsflächeneffekte aktivieren. Doch da steht: Compositing wird auf Ihrem System leider nicht unterstützt. Required X extensions (XComposite and XDamage) are not available.

Jetzt habe ich prop. Nvidia-Treiber installiert und auch Compiz-kde4 über 1-klick installiert.

doch es bleibt so. woran liegt das eigentlich? und wie kann ich compiz nutzen ?

Compiz selbst brauchst du eigentlich nicht. Wie hast du den Treiber installiert? Über das Reop oder manuell?
Was liefert denn bitte

so, hier die xorg.conf
beim ersten mal habe ich den nvidia-treiber für linux von der nvidia-homepage manuell installiert, danach von opensuse.org über 1-klick-installation den 185.x treiber.

Vielleicht ist es dir selbst aufgefallen, aber Composite steht in der xorg.conf auf off
Ändern in on

Am besten folgenden Befehl als Root absetzen

nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals --allow-glx-with-composite --composite --render-accel --damage-events
