pcmcia Kartenleser für diverse Karten

Hallo,

da meine Suche im Forum nichts passendes ergeben hat und die Glaskugel das "Gerät" auch nicht kennt, nachfolgende Frage:

Ich bin in Japan dem Kaufrausch erlegen und habe mir als Backup-Medium eine 16GB-SD-HC-Karte gekauft. Passend dazu einen PCMCIA-Kartenleser von Maxell (PA-CB-MLT). Der Kartenleser wird (auch nicht mit verschiedenen SD-Karten intus) nicht erkannt. Gut, kein großes Drama.

Wie kann ich vorgehen, um herauszufinden, ob der Kartenleser überhaupt angesprochen werden kann, oder - idealerweise - das Ding zum laufen bekomme.

Alternativ wäre ich für Hinweise Dankbar, welche SD-HC-Kartenleser mit sicherheit unter SuSE 10.2 lauffähig sind.

Ja, pcmciautils sind installiert. Aber an dem Kartenleser hängt nicht mein Herz. Wäre nur sehr praktisch gewesen, weil bei USB immer irgendwas am Notebook "hängt"... Trotzdem Danke für die Tips.
