CD/RW Laufwerk nicht zu öffnen DVD LW nicht erkannt

Hi,
ich habe im Grunde mit meinem OpenSuse 10.3 zwei Probleme.
1. Auf mein CD/RW Laufwerk kann ich zwar zugreifen, es erscheint auch als icon auf dem Desktop, aber es lässt sich(nur unter Linux, wohl aber unter WinXP) nicht von aussen öffnen.
2. Das DVD Laufwerk wird zwar unter Yast/Hardware erkannt. Es gibt aber kein icon auf dem Desktop und auch unter "places" erscheint es nicht.
Wer hat eine Idee? Wie gesagt, unter WinXP funktionieren die seit Jahren.

1.) Normal. Das ist kein Fehler, das soll so sein. Allerdings sollte in modernen Distributionen das auswerfen per Knopf egentlich funktionieren. Hängt aber vermutlich von der Hardware ab.

2.) Auch nicht unter /media zu finden?

Nö, unter Media finde ich nur das CD/RW. UNd wie kriege ich das auf?
