Problem mit ACPI, Suse 10.3 auf Thinkpad R51e

Hallo,

Ich habe kürzlich den umstieg von Suse 10.2 auf Suse 10.3 gemacht. Läuft soweit ganz gut,nur das ACPI macht Probleme. Der Rechner braucht beim booten extrem lange, er hängt wenn er Ausgaben zu ACPI (Lüfter und Stromversorgung) macht, im Betrieb wird keine angabe gemacht, ob Akku oder Netzbetrieb und auch keine zum Ladezustand des Akkus.
Die Optionen Suspend to RAM/Disk funtionieren ebenfalls nicht.

Mit acpi=off bootet er sehr schnell, kann aber beim herunterfahren nicht automatisch ausschalten. Die Angaben zu Stromversorgung bekomme ich auch nicht.

Unter 10.2 war das alles kein Problem. Kann mir jemand helfen?

Du kannst dir mal die /var/log Dateien ansehen und die genauen Ausgaben posten zwecks dem langen haengen beim Bootvorgang und dem ACPI.

Hallo,

da gibt es einige Dateien, in welchen steht denn das wichtige drin und was soll ich posten? Ich bin da nicht so versiert!
 
Als root ein dmesg eingeben.

Es mag sein das unter SuSE die Verzeichnisstrucktur ein wenig anderst ist als bei mir. Schau einfach mal was in /var/log nach, vl. ist da auch eine boot.msg oder so.

Die Eingabe von dmesg fördert dies zutage. Eine boot.msg gibt es auch, soll ich die auch posten?

Hast Du einen Tipp, ob es ein bestimmter sein soll, oder hauptsache älter als 2.6.2x.x also z.B. irgendwas mit 2.6.1x.x.

Ich habe noch nie einen Kernel kompiliert, hast Du einen Tipp für eine gute Anleitung? Ich scheue mich ein wenig vor den ganzen Einstellungen, die da gefordert werden.

Du musst keinen Kernel selber bauen, spiele einen fertigen ein. Ich habe im Netz nur bereits des oeffteren gelesen das es gerade bei den momentan neueren Kernelversionen wieder des oeffteren Probs. mit ACPI gibt, gerade bei Thinkpads. Daher wuerde ich das mal mit einem anderen versuchen. Schau mal auf deine SuSE Detentraeger was da noch alles fuer welche mit dabei sind die dann bequem ueber Yast installiert werden koennen. Aber immer daran denken das du keinen Kernel vom System deinstallierst ! Genau genommen solltest du dir einen zweiten mit dazu installieren. Schau hierzu mal ins Wiki, dort sollte etwas zu finden sein.

Ich habe jetzt einen Kernel 2.6.18.2-34 (von der Suse 10.2 DVD) per "rpm -ihv --oldpackage kernel-default-2.6.18.2-34.i586.rpm" eingespielt. Es ist auch gleich ein zusätzlicher Eintrag in Grub angelegt worden.
Beim booten bleibt das System allerdings hängen mit einer Meldung: waiting for sda8 (oder so ähnlich).
Das booten mit dem vorherigen Kernel geht problemlos. Die Einträge in der /boot/grub/menu.lst sind bis auf die Kernelnummer identisch, siehe unten:

Das Problem, dass Kpowersave immer nur den Wechselstromanschluss angezeigt hat, obwohl ich im Akkubetrieb unterwegs war hatte ich auch. Ich habe dann mit "acpi=force" gestartet und plötzlich wechselt Kpowersave das Icon.

BTW, ich verwende auf meinem IBM ThinkPad X20 mit 384 MB RAM openSUSE 10.3. Ich konnte noch nicht feststellen, dass das Booten oder Herunterfahren schneller geht als vorher mit 10.2.

Ich habe jetzt festgestellt, dass, wenn ich mit normaler acpi Option boote (acpi=force bringt keinen unterschied), dass KPowersave Icon die richtigen Werte anzeigt, aber nur wenn ich den X-Server einmal neustarte (Strg+Alt+Backspace) oder mich einmal ein- und auslogge.

Mit aktiviertem acpi geht das booten sehr langsam, mit acpi=off sehr schnell, auch deutlich schneller als bei Opensuse 10.2.

Jezt habe ich gerade nochmal die acpi=oldboot Option ausprobiert, da hängt der Rechner deutlich kürzer beim booten. Ich habe auch nicht den Eindruck, dass acpi nicht funktioniert, sondern nur extrem langsam. Wenn ich in der Konsole den Status mit acpi -V abrufe dauert es etwa 2 Minuten, bis ich die Ausgabe bekomme. Ist das normal?
