SUSE 10.0 = Immer Netzwerkneustart nach dem Booten?

Hallo

Ich habe mit SUSE 10.0 folgendes Problem:

Mein Netzwerk muss nach dem booten mit "rcnetwork restart" neu gestartet werden, sonst geht nichts.
Ich habe ein Siemens Lifebook C 1110 mit einem ipw2200 (Centrino)
Wenn ich Kwifimanager starte sehe ich die Feldstärke und die manuell vergebene ip-Adresse.
Er erkennt auch die Basisstation.
Aber ohne rcnetwork restart geht nichts.

Das Gleiche gilt auch für das wiederaufwachen aus
"Suspend to Disk".
Ebenfalls ist ein rcnetwork restart fällig sonst geht nichts.

Was tun?

Schau doch erst mal nach, was die logs zum dem Thema zu sagen haben.

/var/log/messages und /var/log/boot.msg sind da ganz gute Adressen.

Mir fällt dabei auf, dass die Encryption auf off steht, obwohl nach dem rcnetwork restart der Encyptionkey eingetragen ist.

Kann da das Problem liegen?

Das ist auch meine Vermutung, ich habe nur noch nicht kapiert warum das auftritt.
Bei mir hilft nach dem KDE start einmal ifdown <interface> und dann ifup <interface> aufzurufen. Danach ist bei iwconfig der encryption key gesetzt und das WLAN funktioniert

Nun habe ich das Problem dass ich für Ifup oder ifdown immer als root einloggen muss.
Kann ich das umgehen?
Für mich ist das insbesondere deshalb nervig, weil dieselbe Problematik (Netwerk muss neu gestartet werden) bei mir auch bei dem Aufwachen aus dem Suspend to Disk auftritt.

Hast Du schon mal versucht verschiedene Dienste beim Laden zu übergehen?

ob man nun 'rcnetwork restart' oder 'ifup <interface>' eingeben muß, wo ist da der Unterschied? OK, die ifup-Variante verlangt weniger Eingabe ;) aber im Prinzip sind beide Sachen äquivalent, denn ifup wird in /etc/init.d/network, also in rcnetwork, aufgerufen,

Zunächst mal: Ich habe ein "ähnliches Problem". Warum ähnlich?

- Ich habe SuSE 10 und ipw2200bg (Asus A7VC Notebook)
- Ich muß auch 'rcnetwork restart' in level 5 (nach kdm) ausführen
- Vermutlich läuft das WLAN bei Dir auch unter WinXP ohne Probleme ;(

Bei mir sind leider auch andere Probleme vorhanden, die bei Dir nicht zu sehen sind. Z.B. der Adapter wird bei mir während des Bootens gar nicht erkannt. Aber nach 'init 5' kann ich, vor dem 'rcnetwork restart', 'modprobe ipw2200' eingeben und schon klappt alles.

Das ist mehr als merkwürdig und deutet IMHO auf ein prinzipielleres Problem mit SuSE 10 und dem ipw2200bg hin. Ich habe schon Einiges ausprobiert, leider bis dato ohne Erfolg. Aber, wie man sieht, ich bin immer noch auf der Suche nach Hinweisen und ich glaube, daß unsere Proleme irgendwie etwas Gemeinsames haben. Deswegen sollten wir uns gegenseitig helfen ;). Bis jetzt habe ich leider wenig Erfolg gehabt aber ich werde berichten, sollte mir etwas Neues einfallen.

mir ist da nichts eingefallen. Ich habe noch etwas rumprobiert: IP-Adresse mit DHCP konfigurieren und unter erweitert oder so ähnlich "beim Systemstart laden" haben vermutlich geholfen (habe das Notebook nicht hier, ist bei einem Bekannten, deshalb weiss ich die genaue Konfiguration nicht mehr

Macht es Sinn, wenn ich versuche in den nächsten Tagen die Firmware welche Suse mitliefert durch eine selbstgebaute zu ersetzen?

Oder wurde das schon ausprobiert?

Also ich habe es noch nicht probiert. Da auf dem Notebook das WLAN jetzt läuft, traue ich mich nicht mehr, nochmals was zu ändern

Hi,

nachdem ich mich auch ewig mit dem Problem rumgeschlagen hab, und das ewige "modprobe ipw2200 + rcnetwork restart" als root nach jedem Booten leid war, hab ich jetzt SuSE 10.0 OSS auf meinem Acer Travelmate 4001 WLMI neu installiert. Danach hab ich dieses rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ft...Extra/suse/noarch/ipw-firmware-5-6.noarch.rpm installiert, als root in der Konsole ipw2200 aufgerufen und anschließend über Yast meine WLAN-Karte eingerichtet. Sofort wurde bei der Einrichtung auch das Modul ipw2200 erkannt und seitdem läuft nach dem Booten alles problemlos. Vielleicht hilft es Euch.
