"Unable to open parallel port device file "/dev/lp0": Permission denied"
Geräte URI: parallel:/dev/lp0

Wie erhalte ich Permission???? :?:

Du hast warscheinlich keine Rechte für diese Datei (Gerät),
versuch erst , als Root, und wenn es gehen sollte , dann Rechte für den Benutzer.
(Permission denied -> Zugriff verweigert)

Die original Nachricht habe ich nicht gespeichert!

abe r wir könenn hier weitermachen:

ich habe auch als root keine Rechte und der Zugriff wird verweigert.

Ich erinnere mich das cups mich fragte einen User anzulegen, dies aber mit meinem usernamen und kennwort, wie auch mit root und rootkennwort verweigerte.
wenn ich cups via http://localhost:631 aufrufe kann ich und root nichts machen jedesmal erscheint Fehler 403.

Kann ich einen user in cups anlegen der das dann darf und kann er dann die rechte vergeben.
Root und auch ich als user gehöhren der Gruppe lp an.(in Yast überprüft!)

Für CUPS muss ein Passwort festgelegt werden:

danke hatte ich auch schon erlesen, War aber zwei Tage weg vom PC.

Auf der Konsole lässt lppasswd auch die Eingabe des Passwortes fü root zu. Habe auch mein Nutzernamen so ausgewählt und ein Passwort vergeben, auch das geht ( mit -a user, kann ich doch mehrere Nutzer anlegen!).

Aber in der Cups Anleitung steht nicht (okay: ich finde nicht) wie ich mich mit dem Nutzernamen oder root anmelden soll um über Konquerer http://localhost:631 Zugriffsrechte zu erhalten.

Bei Einrichtungsaufgaben erhalte ich auch als Angemeldeter root "forbidden ..."

Eingerichtet habe ich den Drucker über das Webadmin von Cups. Den root-user für Cups konnte ich nach einigen Anläufen jetzt einrichten.

Habe auch an der Kosole getestet:
ManfredPC:/dev # su
ManfredPC:/dev # cat /etc/hosts.allow | /dev/lp0
bash: /dev/lp0: Keine Berechtigung

Wer weiss was da faul ist?

Also du siehst der chmod Befehl lies den Zugriff auf /dev/lp0 zu. Auch die Druckaufträge sind fertig, aber am Drucker rührt sich kein Rädchen.

Woran scheitert es denn jetzt?

Schau dir noch die Dateien in /etc/cups an.
In /etc/cups/printers.conf müssen die Benutzer
eingetragen sein.
Und schau dir auch wieder mal die Ausgabe von /var/log/cups an.

Hast du überhaupt versucht den Drucker per YaST
einzurichten? Da werden die Permissions / Zugriffsrechte
automatisch über SuSEconfig-Scripte gesetzt.

Es gibt 4 Ordener certs (1 Datei 0 nur rootzugriff), interfaces (leer), ppd (printer und HPDJ400), ssl (leer)

Ja schon etliche male und Yast beahauptet ständig, das der Drucker okay sei, sowohl die Anschlüsse und Treber, aber eine Testseite kommt auch auf dem Drucker nicht raus. Ich habe in Yast dann nur die Möglcikeit Testdruck anzuhalten oder abzubrechen, beide Optionen führen aber nciht weiter.

Langsam habe ich das Gefühl , das SuSE und Cups
irgendwie danebenreden (gesendet , als FAX!?):
Schicke vor allem Ausgabe von:
/var/log/cups/error_log

Schau, ob Module "parport" und "lp" geladen sind (lsmod)

so auslesen:
cat /proc/sys/dev/parport/parport0/autoprobe

bei /etc/cups/printers.conf
müsste ein Abschnitt mit Benutzern auftauchen:

Vorrausgesetzt die BIOS-Einstellungen stimmen (Bi-Direktional), müsste es klappen.

Sonst bleibt nur vom vorne, wie im Administrationshandbuch beschrieben, die
Parallelport - Schnittstelle einzurichten und dann
das ganze Cups-System im Yast löschen , neu aufspielen
und mit Yast->Manuell->Andere Drucker->Parallel versuchen erneut einzurichten (ohne Testdruck).
Dann wäre erst richtiggestellt, das alles von SuSE eingetragen wurde.

So wie ich nehmlich gemerkt habe, fehlen da einige
Dateien in /etc/cups, kann sein dass bei den Spielereien
einiges im Datennirvana gelandet sei.

Da steht es auch, dass es ein Einpatronendrucker sei , also beim Druckeigenschaften :
Bei Schwarzpatrone - Schwarz
Bei Farbe - Farbdruck auswählen
Sonst wird auch nicht gedruckt!

Andere Lösung wäre der Treiber von Turboprint:
http://www.turboprint.de ,aber ich weiss nicht, ob der Drucker unterstützt wird.
