[gelöst]Grafik mit o-Suse 12.3 u. ATI HD 3300 unbefriedigend

Hallo,

nach dem Upgrade von openSuse 12.2 auf 12.3 macht die Graka Ati HD 3300 Probleme.

Es gibt nur eine Auflösung von 800x600, und das sehr pixelig.

Nachdem ich etliche Artikel zu diesem Themenkomplex in den Foren gelesen habe ---> das fglrx Modul funktioneirt mit dieser GraKa nicht.
Abhilfe bringt nur die das Ersetzen von nomodeset mit x11failsave in den Kerneloptionen beim Booten.

Nun meine Fragen: Warum ist das so, dass radeon Modul wird in beiden Fällen geladen?
Gibt es eine andere Möglichkeit, um das Problem sauber zu lösen?

Was spricht denn /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
Btw, radeon benötigt KMS, ergo ist nomodeset total suboptimal!

Wenn ich mich recht erinnere waren es doch die ATI Karten, die Probleme mit KMS haben. Oder?
Zum Vergrößern anklicken....
Ich weiss nur, daß die alten pre HD-Chipsätze manchmal Probleme mit KMS hatten, bei allen HD-Chipsätzen hab ich das noch nie gesehen.
Und nochmal, unter aktuellen X-Server Versionen funktioniert radeon nur noch mit KMS, genau wie es bei intel schon lange der Fall ist.

Danke für die wirkungsvolle Hilfe.

Das Löschen von vga=0307 und x11failsave war die Lösung.
Darauf muss man aber erst mal kommen.

Zu Josefs Frage: Bei mir war ohne Manipulation der Kernelparameter beim Booten der Bildschirm auch schwarz.
Nur das Booten im fehlersicheren Modus ergab die grafische Oberfläche.
Dann war auch die Xorg.0.log vorhanden, und nicht leer.
