Seltsame Phänomäne unter OpenSuSE 11.3

ich habe vor ein paar Wochen meinen OpenSuSE 11.0 Server auf 11.3 gehievt und leide seit ein paar Tagen unter folgenden Problemen:

1. Beim Booten braucht die Firewallinitialisierung gefühlte 2 Jahre. Das ist erst sein ich kürzlich einen Absturz hatte. Wie kann ich das Problem verfolgen?
2. Dauernd bleibt mein Server aus ungeklärten Gründen stehen. Wenn ich noch einen Blick auf das errorlog kriege, steht was davon, das ata 0.0.3 nich schnell genug antwortet. Deutet das auf eine kaputte Platte hin? ich betreibe das Linux auf einem Promise RAID-1. Normalerweise finden sich die Platten immer unter dm...
bzw /dev/mapper/

Bin ein wenig ratlos, das 11.0er Linux lief fast drei Jahre im Dauerbetrieb ohne Absturz.

was steht denn alles in den log Dateien? Bzgl. der Firewall sollte was aufgeführt sein und die Platten kannste doch sicher auch mal testen.

Was mich gerade stutzig macht, ist die Tatsache, daß meine beiden RAID Platten als SDA und SDB scheinbar deutlich sichtbar für den Kernel sind, obwohl da ein HW-RAID 1 läuft !?
