[gelöst]Drucker am Parallelport kan nicht installiert werden

Hallo Leute. Hab nach der Installation eines Rechners (Suse 11.0) an den ein HP 4250tn per Parallelport angeschlossen werden soll ein Problem.
Der Parallelport wird deaktiviert (var/log/messages).
/dev/lp0 ist vorhanden.

Woran liegt es das der ParPort deaktiviert wird? Und was kann ich machen um den Drucker zu installieren?

Hab die Lösung im thread http://www.linux-club.de/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=98029&start=0 gefunden.
Allerdings habe ich jetzt wieder ein anderes Problem...
Der Drucker empfängt die Daten und bleibt dabei hängen. Es steht da "Job wird verarbeitet" und da stehts minutenlang bis ich den Job abbreche. Dann spuckt er ein paar Zeilen aus, die aber nichts mit dem eigentlichen Druck zu tun haben.

Ich habe Probehalber einen anderen HP 4250tn angeschlossen und mit dem wird wunderbar alles ausgedruckt. Ich bin mit meinem Latein am Ende. Wenns bei dem einen geht müsste es doch bei dem anderen auch gehen.

Der Drucker ist auch nicht kaputt, da er mit dem alten Rechner wunderbar funktioniert.

Ich weiss auch nicht wie ich in so einem Fall vorgehen muss um den Fehler ausfindig zu machen.
Wäre toll wenn ihr mir ein paar Befehle an die Hand geben würdet damit ich da weiter komme.

Da es scheinbar am Drucker liegt, würde ich mal die Einstellungen kontrollieren. Auf beiden Druckern mal die Status/Konfig/Selbsttestseite oder wie das Ding heißt ausdrucken. Ich meine die Seite wo Firmwareversion, Anzahl der Druckseiten, installierter Speicher, ... drauf steht.

Vielleicht hat die Schnittstellte ja einen Defekt,

Ja hab den Drucker übers Netzwerk angesteuert und da funktioniert er einwandfrei.

Das bleibt jetzt auch so.
