DVD-Brenner erkennt & liest CD`s/DVD`s nicht richtig aus!

Hallo!
Ich bin neu bei Linux und habe mir einen DVD-Brenner von LG geholt. Die Modellnummer ist GH22. Mein Kollege hat mir ein Suse 11.1 auf den Rechner gespielt mit KDE 4.2.3. Der Kernel, der bei mir im moment vorhanden ist, ist der "Linux 2.6.27.23-0.1-pae i686".

Wenn CD`s bzw. DVD`S zum lesen in den Brenner gelegt werden, werden diese entwerder gar nicht erkennt oder es werden nur Teile der Daten auf dem Datenträger angezeigt. Dieses obwohl dieselben Datenträger in einem anderen Laufwerk und in demselben Laufwerk unter Windows einwandfrei funktionieren.

Das Laufwerk das nicht richtig funktioniert ist das Laufwerk 17.

Tut mir Leid mich nicht früher gemeldet zu haben. Ich war leider arbeitstechnisch sehr stark eingespannt.

Aufgrund von vieler Arbeit und der Tatsache, dass jemand, der meinen Rechner vorrübergehend mitgenutzt hat, diesen weitestgehend verstellt hat, konnte ich mich nun einige Zeit lang nicht mehr wirklich um das Problem mit dem Brenner kümmern. Hierfür bitte ich vielmals um Entschuldigung.

Auf jeden Fall hat ein Bekannter von mir nun die neue Firmeware auf dem Brenner installiert. Ohne Erfolg.
Das Problem besteht weiterhin.

Hat noch jemand eine Idee, wie ich das Problem in den Griff bekommen könnte???
