[gelöst] Programmabbruch bei tar

Hallo,
ich wollte soeben mittels tar mein Home-Verzeichnis sichern. Jedoch wird der Vorgang immer mittendrin abgebrochen, ohne weiteren Hinweis auf den Fehler.
Ich nutzen tar mit dem Befehl: tar cvf /media/disk/Backup-1.tar /home/
Es kommt dann nach einiger Zeit die Ausgabe: tar: /media/disk/Backup-1.tar: Nur 4095 von 10240 Bytes geschrieben
tar: Nicht behebbarer Fehler: Programmabbruch.

Bei mehreren Versuchen lag der Abbruch übrigens immer bei 4095 von 10240 Bytes, unabhängig von der Größe des zu archivierenden Verzeichnisses.
Weiß jemand, woran das liegen kann?

Das kann eigentlich nicht sein, da der Abbruch immer bei Dateien stattfand, die definitiv nicht in Bearbeitung waren.

tar sichert alles was da ist, ob zum lesen oder zum schreiben geöffnet ist tar egal, wird alles mitgesichert. Wie es aussieht kann tar den Fehler selbst nicht eingrenzen, könnten das Schreibfehler sein? Platte voll? defekte Blöcke oÄ. ? Wie lange braucht er denn so für die lächerlichen 4KB wenn du sagst mittendrinn / nach einiger Zeit, oder ist das ein Schreibfehler ? Schau mal was dmesg sagt oder was in /var/log/messages am Ende steht, nachdem er so abbricht.

Die Angabe mit dem 4kb ist von tar nicht richtig, da die Datei dann immer schon eine Größe zwischen 2 und 4GB hat. Aber der angegebene Wert war bei allen Versuchen der gleiche, unabhängig davon, wie groß das erstellte Archiv schon war.

Die lange Liste dmesg kannst du getrost wieder rauslöschen, Schreibfehler stehen jedenfalls keine drin.
Das nächste mal bitte so hier, http://www.linux-club.de/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=67358

da die Datei dann immer schon eine Größe zwischen 2 und 4GB hat.
klingelt da was bei mir ?
Auf was für ein Filesystem schreibst du das Archiv? Doch nicht etwa FAT32, dort ist definitiv <4GB maximale Dateigröße.
gib mal die Ausgaben von mount und df -k

Das war der Fehler. Die externe Platte ist wirklich mit FAT32 formatiert. Vielen Dank.
