Hilfe Bootmanager ist weg

Hallo

Bin neu hier und habe da mal eine Frage

Habe auf meinem Laptop erst Vista installiert lief soweit gut und dann Ubuntu7.10 mit Grub Bootmanager lief alles soweit ganz gut. Bis ich probleme mit Vista bekommen habe,dann habe ich mich entschieden Vista wieder zu deinstallieren und wieder auf Win XP Prof umzusteigen. Nun mein Problem ist, das mein Bootmanager Grub weg ist. Und Ubuntu ist noch sicher drauf habe es mit Knoppix geprüft. Kann mir einer bitte weiterhelfen?

Ok soweit Grub ist installiert bekomme dann aber eine Fehlermeldung wenn ich Ubuntu starten will:Error 17 : Cannot mount selected partition

Müsste das nicht im UBUNTU-Abschnitt der menu.lst statt dessen root (hd0,1) heissen, zumindest wenn man die Ausgabe von fdisk -l zu Rate zieht?
Laut Deiner fstab sehe ich allerdings auch 4 Partitionen, irgendwas passt da nicht zusammen!
