[gelöst] Nach Graka(?)-Absturz eingerichteter Desktop weg

Hallo Leute,

heute gegen halb fünf hatte ich meinen Rechner in den Ruhezustand versetzt. Als ich den eben wieder einschaltete, fuhr dieser ganz normal hoch und zeigte mir die Anmeldemaske an. Gleich nach dem Einloggen hatte ich das typische verpixelte und statisch bunte Schneetreibenauf meinem Schirm. Also mit dem Resetknopf neu gestartet. Andere Wege, die ich kenne, bringen nichts mehr. Welche Log wollt ihr haben, um eventuell den Fehler zu finden?

Vorgeschichte(?): Gestern hatte ich meinen Desktop gepimpt. Kontroll-Leiste gelöscht, Systray, Uhr, Startmenü u. ä. als Miniprogramme direkt auf den Desktop. Diverse Programm- und Ordnerlinks auch auf den Desktop und gut war.

Ich habe meinen eingerichteten Desktop nicht wieder bekommen. D. h. für mich Hintergrund heraussuchen und Icons auf den Schirm. Meine aktiven Ecken, das Farbschema, die Anzahl der Arbeitsflächen und Zeilenbestimmung auf dem Arbeitsflächenumschalter blieben erhalten (auf den ersten Blick).

P.s.: Leider schrecken solche Erlebnisse mich davon ab, openSUSE (sprich Linux) weiter zu empfehlen. Ich habe keine Idee, ob Winuser mit solchem Problem zu kämpfen haben. Tun sie's?

Wieso ist das für Dich "typisch"? Es sollte sich wohl herumgesprochen haben, daß bei Grafik-Problemen vor allem /var/log/Xorg.0.log wichtig ist, und zwar vor dem nächsten Start des grafischen Systems, da die Datei dabei neu erstellt wird.

Vielleicht wirst Du in Zukunft weniger leichtsinnig sein.

Warum solche Vorwürfe? Die Kiste stand, nichts lief, was machen? Jetzt weiß ich, dass die Xorg.0.log wichtig ist. Wenn ist Sinn hat, dann starte ich in so einem Fall den Rechner mit einem Live-Stick und sichere die Xorg.0.log.

So, vielleicht freut sich jemand worüber auch immer. Der KDE-Desktop selbst wird nicht geladen. Nach dem Startbildschirm, nach der Anmeldung also, bleibt mein Desktop leer. Über Alt+F2 kann ich (verschiedene) Programme starten, zwischen den Arbeitsflächen wechseln und sogar meine aktiven Ecken funzen. Aber ein Rechtsklick auf dem leeren Desktop bewirkt nichts.

Ich möchte gerne soweit wie möglich zurück, nicht gleich Neuinstallation, und von dort aus verstehen, was ich falsch mache. Danach will ich wissen, warum es nicht möglich ist, alles auf den primären Monitor zu halten und nur bei Bedarf auf den zweiten zu haben. Dafür eröffne ich gerne einen neuen Thread.

Und wieder muss ich fragen, welche Infos ihr braucht.

Was passiert, wenn Du einen frischen User (mit frischen Default-Desktop) erstellst und Dich damit anmeldest?

Krass, ich hätt's nicht gedacht: Der komplette Desktop des neuen Users ist da. Keine Fehlermeldung, nicht.

Auf meinem Konto bekomme ich diese Meldungen:

Es trat ein (möglicherweise temporäres) Problem beim Verbinden mit einer Software-Quelle auf.

Du hast irgendeinen ungesunden Eintrage innerhalb des '.kde4'-Verzeichnisses im alten Account. Deswegen hätte ein Backup Dir voraussichtlich weitergeholfen.

Nun könntest Du zur Ursachenfindung evtl. diffen...

Ich meine, Du könntest versuchen, die beiden '.kde4'-Verzeichnisse zu vergleichen, möglicherweise mit 'diff' oder einem vergleichbaren Werkzeug.

Wenn Du noch die Berechtigungen anpasst, dann sollte ein Ersetzen nach meiner Erfahrung problemlos funktionieren - mit der von Dir schon genannten Einschränkung.
Tipp: Lege eine Kopie davon an, so dass Du später immer noch mal darauf zurückgreifen kannst, um bestimmte Bereiche wie beispielsweise den Password-Safe (kwallet) zu restoren.

Jau, meine frohe Kunde ist, dass der KDE wieder ganz durchstartet. Bisher habe ich mit dem übernommenen Test-Profil keinen Ärger. Angenehmeweise startet KDE jetzt auch wieder schneller.

Eine kleine O.T.-Frage bitte am Rand: Wo stelle ich die Grundgröße von Icons ein, die ich neu auf meinem Desktop ziehe?

Systemeinstellungen > Erscheinungsbild von Anwendungen > Symbole > Raiter: Erweitert, darunter auf Arbeitsfläche und dann rechts die gewünschte Größe.
