Beim herunterfahren besteht das Problem nicht mehr!? Beim Ruhezustand allerdings schon. Vielleicht sollte ich dass Problem beim ruhezustand mal genauer beschreiben:

Du verwendest nicht den normalen Start, sondern den Failsafe-Start, der an und für sich nur für Fehlersituationen gedacht ist und daher verschiedene Funktionen (z. B. auch Energieverwaltungsoptionen) deaktiviert hat.

Ja, weil beim "normalen" Start friert Linux immer bei "Reached target Sound Card" ein.
Daher mal probiert, und gesehen, dass der Failsafe-Start funktioniert. Benutze setdem immer dem.
Hab es grad eben nochmal probiert, aber wieder das gleiche Problem. :-(

Mach mal folgendes:

Du markierst den Standard Menüeintrag und fügst im Feld Bootoptionen mal folgendes ein:

Du solltest beim normalen Start die Boot-Option nomodeset probieren. Hast Du keinen Erfolg, versuche x11failsafe und als dritte Variante beide zusammen (zu GRUB2 siehe http://www.linupedia.org/opensuse/GRUB2#Boot-Eintr.C3.A4ge_manuell_.C3.A4ndern). Dann brauchen wir noch Informationen über Deine Grafikkarte:

Daß es Kombinationen aus Intel- und Nvidia-Grafik gibt, weiß ich. Die Kombination aus Intel- und ATI-Grafik ist für mich neu, und dazu kann ich nichts beitragen. Derzeit läuft bei Dir die (mit an Sicherheit grenzender Wahrscheinlichkeit schwächere) Intel-Grafik.

P. S. Wie sieht es jetzt mit dem Ruhezustand aus?

HP Pavilon 17 != HP Pavilon 17 ! Die Modellnummer dahinter ist wichtig, denn es gibt verschiedene Modelle, die ziemlich heftig voneinander abweichen, besonders, was Dein Problem betrifft.

Kann es sein, dass Dein Rechner so heißt: HP Pavilion 17-e032sg ?

Intel-Prozessor natürlich mit Intel integrierter Grafik und ATI-Grafikkarte. Letztere ist für die Bildausgabe zuständig und läuft nicht, erstere ist in Betrieb, kann aber kein Bild ausgeben.

Habe ihn vorhin mal getestet, Ergebnis ist das selbe. Bildschirm bleibt schwarz, ich habe jede erdenkliche Tastenkombination ausprobiert, Maustasten gedrückt und dann den Laptop auf die "harte" Methode ausgeschalten.

Ich finde es spannend, wie inkonsequent HP seine Notebookserien ausrüstet. Dass aber die Modellbezeichnungen nicht stimmen, ist wirklich ätzend.
