[gelöst] VMware Server installation bricht ab

Hallöchen alle zusammen,

habe nun meinen Server auf openSuse Linux 11 aktualisiert.

Wie erwartet läuft natürlich auch alle besser, und schneller.

Allerdings gibt es bei der installation de VmWare Servers Probleme.

Wenn ich die Installation mittels

rpm -ihv Dateiname
einleite bekomme ich immer eine Fehlermeldung.

Werde selber leider nicht aus dem Konsolen Output schlau.
Habe es mal in eine Datei weitergeleitet.

Vll könnt ihr mir ja anhand der Logs helfen.

Ich bekam in der Konsole auch Meldungen, das Ding wurde trotzdem installiert.

Hat die Installation vielleicht doch geklappt? Schau doch mal per "rpm -qa | grep ware" nach.

Das sind nur Kernelmodule für die VMWARE Guesttools. Keine Ahnung, warum die bei deinem Server installiert sind. Die kannst du wohl deinstallieren.

Wäre der Server da, wäre eine Zeile "VMware-server-2.0.0-122956" vorhanden.

Du kannst versuchen, stattdessen den Server über das tar.gz-Paket zu installieren.

okay, habe jetzt die ganzen vmware sachen deinstalliert.

der kram mit yast lies sich nicht löschen, da es noch gebraucht wird. (konsolen output)

ich lade mir jetzt das tar.gz und melde mich dann wieder.

danke schön fürs erste schon mal =]

also so jetzt habe ich es zwischendurch mal geschafft, dass der server erfolgreich installiert wurde. konnte auch die config ausführen, allerdings konnte ich den server nicht über die vmware console erreichen.

ich würde gerne den server komplett vom system entfernen. so hier und da und dort liegen ja immer so vmware teile rum.
wie kann ich vmware komplett deinstallieren. so dass es aussieht, als wäre diese software auch nie auf diesem system gewesen?

Also fragt mich jetzt nicht wie, aber ich konnte VMWARE nun aus dem .tar.gz installieren. (vmware-install.pl)
Er sagte halt immer, dass ein paar Dateien bereits exestieren, und dass er andere noch neu schreiben muss.

Danach habe ich ganz normal die vmware-config.pl durchgeführt. Auch diese verlief Stress frei.

Allerdings bekomme ich keinen Zugriff auf den Server.
Die VmWare Console sagt immer:

Cannot connect to host [ip....] ein Verbindungsversuch ist fehlgeschlagen, da die Gegenstelle nach eienr bestimmten Zeitspanne nicht richtig reagiert hat, oder die hergestellte Verbindung war fehlerhaft, da der verbundene Host nicht reagiert hat.

Hat sonst noch einer ne Idee? XD

Wie greifst du denn jetzt genau zu?

Welche Version wurde letztlich installiert?

Sind in der Firewall die Ports freigeschaltet, die bei vmware-config.pl angegeben wurden?

Firewall habe ich deaktiviert um zu t esten ob ich die Ports falsch freigegeben habe...

Zugreifen tuhe ich von meinem Notebook (Win Vista) mit VMware Server Console

Die Frage mit dem Compiler ist "Suse-Standard", das habe ich bei 11.0 und 11.1 auch. Macht aber nix, läuft trotzdem.

Kommt noch das Loginfenster vom Server?

Nochmals hallo alle zusammen =)

Jetzt habe ich ja mit viel Glück den VMware Server 2.0 ans laufen gebracht. Allerdings lies sich dieser nur über das Webinterface administrieren. Dies ist ziemlich langsam und unpraktisch.

Ich möchte mir gerne Vmware 1.0.5. installieren. Deswegen habe ich die 2.0 Version deinstalliert (wmware-uninstall.pl) und die vmware-server-1.0.5xxx.rpm installiert.

rpm -ihv ...


Nun bin ich bei der VMware-config.pl, und es kommen Fehlermeldungen. Könnt ihr mir vll helfen?

wie schon gesagt habe auch bereits 2.0 probiert.

die 1.0.5 version ist eine version, die ich schon oft laufen hatte, und mit der ich noch nie probleme hatte.

Zumal in den letzten Versionen auch einige Sicherheitslücken gefixt wurden. Siehe =>HIER

Die letzte 1er Version ist momentan die 1.0.8. Die würde ich an deiner Stelle mal probieren.
