Hallo,
habe linux 92 auf meinen Rechner neu installiert und bekomme das Programm für linux von Fritz Fax nicht installiert. Weiß jemand Rat.

Gruß Petra

Hallo

1 About K ISDN Watch
K ISDN Watch is a universal ISDN monitor for KDE 3, and can be used with each AVM ISDN-Controller and the CAPI4Linux driver. K ISDN Watch is an "open source" program: the complete source code is available under the GNU Public License. The program is based on the ISDN monitor "kimon", written by Markus Dahlweid for I4L (ISDN4Linux) and the HiSax driver. K ISDN Watch can be used in all Linux distributions.

Features of K ISDN Watch include:
Monitoring of all activities of the AVM ISDN-Controller including
Status display for connection set-up and clear-down
Display of the number of ISDN B channels used
Identification of the AVM ISDN-Controller in use
Display of connection time information (incl. log)
Integration in the KDE panel

2 Prerequisites for Installation
any Linux kernel (e.g. 2.6.4 / SUSE 9.1)
KDE 3.x with the current Qt library (version 3.0.2 or later)
AVM ISDN-Controllers with CAPI4Linux drivers

K ISDN Watch is based on the CAPI 2.0 standard interface. The program uses the "capi_manufacturer" call defined in CAPI 2.0 to display certain AVM-specific information about the ISDN-Controller status. This is why K ISDN Watch can only run on AVM ISDN-Controllers.

3 Installation

NOTE: In SUSE 8.1 or higher K ISDN Watch is included on the SUSE installation CDs. You may install the ISDN monitor easily through YaST (Install and Remove Software).

ATTENTION: Before installing K ISDN Watch remove any previous version and make sure to that the development environment packets for X, QT and KDE are present for compilation. Error messages like the following indicate that files or directories required by the system are missing: "In the prefix you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail. So, check this please and use another prefix!"

To check whether the necessary files are present in your system, in SUSE 9.1 open the "KDE Control Center", click "YaST2 modules", then "Software", and select "Install/Remove Software". Administrator or super user rights are required! After the packet information has been read, confirm in the "Package Groups" window the pre-selected path "System/GUI/KDE". Double-click "kdelibs3-devel" to select it as the packet to be installed and confirm, if necessary, the installation of subordinated packets. For further information on installation of packets please contact the SUSE support.

Start installation by setting the environment variables "KDEDIR" and "QTDIR" appropriately to avoid the error messages indicating that files or directories were not found.

Set these variables in the "bash" shell as follows:
export KDEDIR=/opt/kde3
export QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt3

(1) Log in as "root" and start KDE 3.

Note: Make sure to remove a previous installation of K ISDN Watch before installing the latest K ISDN Watch release.
Then open a console (terminal window).

(2) At the shell prompt, copy the archive "kisdnwatch-yy.yy.yy.tar.gz" to your hard drive (you may want to use the command "mcopy" to copy it from a floppy disk). Unpack the archive using the following command, where yy.yy.yy is the given K ISDN Watch version:
tar -xzvf kisdnwatch-yy.yy.yy.tar.gz

Example for version 01.00.08:
tar -xzvf kisdnwatch-01.00.08.tar.gz

A directory called "kisdnwatch-yy.yy.yy" is created.

(3) Change to the new directory "kisdnwatch-yy.yy.yy".

(4) Run the file "./configure".

(5) Enter the command "make".

(6) Run "make install". (This command requires super user access rights!)

After the installation has been completed, the "Internet" menu in the KDE Application Starter (the "K button") contains a link to K ISDN Watch (submenu "Controlling"). In SUSE 8.0 the default KDE menu settings must be activated in order for the icon to be displayed. Open the Control Center and select "Look & Feel: Menu settings", "Standard KDE menu".

NOTE for developers: If you want to re-generate the installation scripts, you must have "autoconf" version 2.59 or higher and "automake" version 1.8.3 or higher.

4 Operation

ATTENTION: All users who are to operate K ISDN Watch must have access rights to /dev/capi20! If the current user does not have the necessary access rights, the icon in the KDE panel is crossed out.

After the program has been compiled and installed, start K ISDN Watch by selecting the link in the "Internet" menu in the Application Starter (the "K button"). The program starts minimized as an icon in the KDE panel. If you click with the *right* mouse button on the K ISDN Watch icon in the KDE panel, a context menu appears offering the following commands:

Open
Opens the K ISDN Watch application window, which displays the connection status, duration of the connection, ISDN B channel used and the ISDN-Controller used.
CAPI Info
Displays information about the manufacturer, the CAPI version, the internal driver version, the serial number of the controller and the D and B channel protocols available for CAPI applications.
Preferences
Allows you to customize various settings for connection set-up and clear-down, automatically hiding the display window, etc. Also displays the manufacturer and version information.
Quit
Stops K ISDN Watch.

For each B channel one LED indicates the status of the ISDN connection: "Online" is represented by a green, "Offline" by a grey LED.
If no CAPI 2.0 driver is active in the system, then the icon in the KDE panel is crossed out.

Log File

The first time an ISDN connection is established, K ISDN Watch automatically creates a log file (kisdnwatch.log) in the user's home directory. The date, time and duration of the connection will be recorded as long as K ISDN Watch is in operation.

Note:

This feature requires a CAPI-based ISDN connection, is designed for single-user mode only, and is not exhaustive.
Please delete the K ISDN Watch log file manually from time to time to keep it from becoming too large.

5 Removing K ISDN Watch

To remove K ISDN Watch from the system, change to the source directory and run the command "make uninstall". (You must have super user access rights!). If K ISDN Watch was installed through YaST, simply use YaST to remove the apllication.

YaST startest du übrigens so:
unten links den kleinen grünen Suse-Knopf anklicken -> System -> YaST
