[Geloest] Kein Plasma Desktop mehr nach Update auf Tumbleweed 2020-10-30

Hallo,

Seit dem Update auf Tumbleweed 2020-10-30 bekomme ich keinen Plasma Desktop mehr.
Es steht nur noch IceWM und TWM zur Verfuegung am Login-Screen.
Inzwischen habe ich Tumbleweed 2020-11-04, aber das hat daran nichts geaendert.
Es ist ein i586 Laptop, der ansonsten seit locker zehn Jahren ohne Probleme mit openSUSE laeuft, was anderes war nie drauf.

Abgesehen vom Update gibt es keine 'bewussten' Manipulationen - es erschien einfach beim naechsten Reboot nach dem Update ein veraenderter Login-Screen mit nur noch diesen beiden Optionen.

Was kann mir den Plasma Desktop zerschossen haben :???:

An Sauerland: Das Kernel-Modul intel und das Xorg-Modul intel sind zwei verschiedene Dinge.

An wolfi_z: Schau in YaST nach, in welchem Paket die Datei intel_drv.so enthalten ist, und installiere das Paket (intel ist dem derzeit verwendeten modesetting vorzuziehen).

An alle: Nachdem IceWM und TWM laufen, liegt das Problem wohl nicht beim grafischen System, sondern an Plasma. Mangels openSUSE und mangels Plasma kann ich dazu nicht sagen.

Ja richtig an der Grafikkarte kann es nicht liegen, das Problem liegt am Plasma :/

Displaymanager ist Xorg. Welche andere Optionen gaebe es da?
Default window manager ist plasma5.
Ich habe einmal auf 'Default' umgestellt und wieder zurueck - kein Effekt.
intel_drv.so findet das YaST leider gar nicht :???:
Zypper dup habe ich sowieso gemacht. Wie gesagt habe ich ja upgedated auf 2020-11-04

Wird der intel_drv.so hier gefunden?

EDIT: Das habe ich gefunden. Ich habe kein Tumbleweed und auch nicht das Wissen um das Howto zu beurteilen oder empfehlen --> https://community.clearlinux.org/t/how-to-enable-intel-driver-and-turn-it-off-modesetting/2673
Die "Xorg.0.log" Ausgabe sieht aber verdammt ähnlich.

Xorg ist die Einstellung laut YaST.
Der Befehl auf Kommandozeile sagt sddm

zypper in lightdm
Code:
update-alternatives --config default-displaymanager

Dort dann lightdm aussuchen und neu booten.

Evtl. hilft es ja, da heute mehrere Meldungen mit einem Problem mit sddm aufgetreten sind.

Bezweifle ich ebenfalls, wahrscheinlich verwechselst du was (Displayserver und Displaymanager) und update-alternatives gibt ja was anderes aus.

Umstieg auf lightdm hilft leider nichts.
Das Login Fenster sieht anders aus, aber es gibt weiterhin nur IceWM und twm

Es laeuft jetzt auch 2020-11-06 rein per zypper dup.

Gut Danke Plasma ist wieder da.
Nur war noch der Dolphin weg (musste ich ebenfalls neu installieren) und USB Sticks werden auch nicht erkannt :???:

Wie kann da so viel kaputt gehen bei einem Update?
