Hallo Gurus,

ich l i e b e 42.2 (like a ...) :irre:

Habe vorhin die angebotenen Updates per "zypper up" installiert und bekomme seither nach dem boot nur noch eine Konsole mit miserabler Auflösung.
Grub2 kennt alle vorherigen Optionen immer noch, und erlaubte mir mein Uralt-System zu booten, sonst könnte ich mich nun nicht melden.
ALT-Tab bringt nur ein "Fenster" mit der Abbruchmeldung von Kwin und Segmentationfault 11

Da steh ich nun .... :???: Help!!

Nun hat diese Liste auch aus 42.2 geklappt (boot-->firefox aus Konsole starten...)
Allerdings ist die Optik aufgrund des Grafikproblems nicht gerade angenehm. (Zumindest im hiesigen Editfenster)
Hin und wieder funkt auch die Meldung mit "Kwin und sgmentationfault 11" dazwischen.

Seltsamerweise konnte ich firefox via Konsole starten, auch yast2 tat, als wäre an der Grafik nichts auszusetzen, doch nun -- getting worse -- habe ich vesucht den nouveau-driver, der mir schon bei der Installation von 42.2 Ärger machte zu entfernen, und bin offenbar übers Ziel hianus geschossen, denn nun bekomme ich nur noch eine Konsole, aber ohne Keypord und Maus.

Installiert ist:

Was genau hast Du gemacht? Das Kernel-Modul könntest Du nur als Datei löschen, was keinen Nutzen bringt, und das Xorg-Modul stört ebenfalls nicht.

Hallo,

auch ich hatte zu Zeiten Suse eine NVIDIA GRAKA. Bei mir half damals die Deinstallation alle nvidia Pakete und anschließend eine Neuinstallation der Pakete. Mit dem Kommando

zypper se -si nvidia

werden alle installierte nvidia-Pakete gezeigt. Am besten die Pakete merken oder besser aufschreiben. Deinstalliert werden die mit

Code:

zypper rm x11-video-nvidiaXXX

XXX steht hier für die Bezeichnung, sollst entsprechend anpassen.
Installiert werden die wieder mit

zypper in x11-video-nvidiaXXX

Zu 100%, denn mein altes Sys macht keinen Ärger, kein segfault, Keyboard und Mouse ok.

Gute Frage, wenn ich das so genau wüsste. Ich habe per Yast einen search auf Nvidia gemacht und alles was "nouveau" im Namen hatte gelöscht und vermutlich, mangels Ahnung, zuviel an dependencies abgenickt.

Auch dann, wenn Du als Boot-Option die Ziffer 3 eingibst?

Ziffer 3 sagt mir im Momant nichts...ich boote mal....

Das war auch der Name, den ich mangels Zugriff auf 42.2, aus --na Du weißt schon-- geholt habe. Installiert sind oder waren (?) nur die entsprechenden drei mit der jeweiligen Endung 04.

Was nun? Kann man vom 42.2-iso-USB-Stick nur Teile der Systemdisk sdb2 neu oder nachinstallieren? Mit "Rescue" hatte ich noch nie Erfolg.

Hallo HP,

bist Du alt genug die Werbung "Isch 'abe aber gar keine Auto" zu kennen?

In meinem Fall habe ich bei Grub2 (=boot from sdb2) keinerlei Bootoptionen und wenn ich bei Grub (=boot from sda2) ein "e" eingebe führt das zu nichts, außer dass mein 42.2, wie gehabt, bis in den eingabelosen Zustand gebootet wird.

Ein /etc/inittab, in dem man den bootdefault auf 3 setzen könnte, gibt es ja nicht mehr.

Der link von Heinz-Peter betrifft GRUB2. Nur beim originalen GRUB reicht im grafischen Menü die Eingabe der Ziffer 3.

Ok, die Eingabe "e---> init 3" hat mittlerweile geklappt, der Erfolg blieb aber leider aus. Komischerweise funktionierte es mit "init 2" und danach schluckte die Kiste auch einen "init 3", aber bei "init 5" hing sie wieder gnadenlos.

Yast-Textmode zeigt bei der Suche nach "nvidia" sechs installierte Eintrage:

Es dürfte auch nicht mehrt aktuell sein, denn zypper bot mir Updates für meine ---02 Grafikdriver an und nach deren Installation ist Xorg.0.log auf rund die Hälfte geschrumpft.
Seither bootet auch der Grafikmode weiter, die gesamte Kontollleiste ist da, eine Meldung über eingegangene Mails bakam ich auch, aber ohne Maus und Tastatur stehe ich immer noch recht bescheiden da.
Hier ein Auszug, mit manuell eingefügter Zeile, die einzige, die mit "fail" noch bei der Soche nach "nvidia" auftaucht:

Das könnte theoretisch(!!) gehen, wäre es kein Standalone-PC mit mir als einzigem User, denn wenn er nach eMails guckt sollte das Netz da sein, aber ohne keyboard und mouse ist das schwer zu prüfen.
Ich habe Zugriff im init 2, zypper und yast sind somit verfügbar und ich kann vom alten System (sda) auch auf Dateien des neuen (sdb) zugreifen.
Wer mir also sagen kann, was ich wo in ein file eintragen oder welches Paket ich nachinstallieren bzw. entfernen muss, ist mein Held.

Nach den zensurierten Meldungen (die nur wenig nützen) denke ich, daß Du einige Notwendigkeiten gemeuchelt hast. Schau in /var/log/zypp/history (oder so ähnlich) nach, was Du alles wieder installieren solltest.

das hat mit zensieren nichts zu tun, Du kannst die Datei nach dem letzten Hang natürlich gerne haben, es sind 355 Zeilen und ich habe 42.2 seither (12:13) nicht mehr gebootet.

Weitere besorgniserregende Dinge sehe ich nicht. Aber durch das Fehlen von nouveau, fbdev und vesa bleibe ich dabei, daß Du essentielle Pakete entfernt hast. Jetzt müssen openSUSE- und Nvidia-Kenner ans Werk.
