Bei OBS höhere Thunderbird Versionsnummer als bei Mozilla

Hallo,

Mozilla hat am 26.02. ein neues Thunderbird (Sicherheits)Update auf die Version 3.02 herausgebracht. Im openSUSE Build Service wird mir jetzt bereits der MozillaThunderbird-3.0.3-3.1.i586.rpm angeboten. Wie kann das sein?

Und wieso kommen weder aus den opensuse Repositories noch aus dem Mozilla Repository Updates für dem Thunderbird?

Welche Version genau und von wo hast du denn installiert?

Eine 3.0.2 gibts zum Beispiel hier:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.2

Wenn du aber einen Thunderbird aus einem anderen Repo installiert hast, dann wird er nicht automatisch geupdatet.
Da hilft dann nur ein konkretes

Das habe ich mich auch schon gefragt, warum das so ist. Im Mozilla-Repo liegt 3.0.3, die es aber bei Mozilla nicht gibt, habe gerade eben nochmals nachgesehen.

Meine installierte Version war auch von OBS (obs://build.opensuse.org/mozilla) Version: 3.0.1-11.1 - ich war allerdings davon ausgegangen, dass ich Aktualisierungen aus meinen anderen Repos zumindest sehe, wenn ich unter Yast2/Software Installieren/Suchen/Versionen auswähle.

Unter Deinem Link finde ich aber auch nur 3.0.3 Versionen, wenn ich das Verzeichnis i586/ auswähle.

Das von Dir angegebene Repo habe ich ausgewählt: /repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.2/
Aber ich bekomme einen anderen neueren Thunderbird als den vom OBS von Yast nicht angeboten, ebenso sehe ich für den Firefox unter Versionen lediglich von obs://build.opensuse.org/mozilla eine aktuelle 3.6 er Version. Allerdings habe ich diesen nicht von OBS bezogen:

in dem von admine geposteten Repo ist firefox ind er Version 3.6 vorhanden. Meine Version stammt auch aus diesem Repo.

Was mich allerdings mal interessieren würde ist, was für Repos du überhaupt eingebunden hast,...

Ich seh grad ... in mozilla:Factory/openSUSE_11.2 gibt es eine Version 3.0.2

Mein Problem ist, dass ich nicht verstehe, wieso mir nur vom OBS Repo neuere Versionen angezeigt werden, wenn ich in der Softwareverwaltung unter .../Versionen in Yast schaue, was verfügbar ist, obwohl ich das von Dir angegebene Repo in meinen Repositories eingestellt habe und obwohl ich die neuen Versionen ebenfalls wie Ihr sehe, wenn ich durch das von Dir angegebene und Verzeichnis browse.
Unter "Technische Daten" werden nur Aktualisierungen aus dem ursprünglichen Installations Repo als "Alternative Version" angezeigt, wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe.

Wenn du in Yast auf den Tab Versionen gehst, siehst du alle verfügbaren Paketversionen aus allen aktiven Repos.

Da zypper up keinen Vendor-Change macht, blieb ich auch länger als erforderlich auf dem alten FF "sitzen"

Das hatte ich ja oben bereits beschrieben. Allerdings bekomme ich die Versionen, die ja verfügbar sind nicht über meinen "Versionen" Tab angezeigt. Lediglich die neuen OBS Versionen der Mozilla Produkte erscheinen dort, wie oben erwähnt. Mit zypper kenne ich mich nicht aus. Was ist da bei mir verstellt, dass das nicht mittels Yast geht? Es scheint ja nicht das Vendor Change Problem zu sein, denn auch manuell kann ich unter dem Tab "Versionen" nicht wechseln.

PS: Überhaupt stimmt da etwas nicht, kürzlich las ich bei einem Update, dass es den screen spam des kupdateapplet Miniprogramms beheben soll. Ich bekomme aber immernoch mehrere Meldungen übereinander gestapelt (gerade als ich ein repo update einspiele wollte) und nun ist unten das gelbe Dreieck mit Fehler: DBus error: Unable to get transaction id from packagekit. Nur so am Rande, falls das irgendwie zusammenhängt.

OBS, OSS und Update

Auf Deinem Bild sehe ich auch nur das Update aus dem OBS. Das OBS Update habe ich auch: 3.0.3...

Ich glaube ich habe eventuell ein grundsätzliches Verständnisproblem. Ich ging bisher davon aus, dass der Build Service etwas ist, wo jeder Pakete erstellen und einstellen kann (und eben mal aus TB 3.0.2 einen 3.0.3 macht, evtl. um aktueller zu erscheinen) sofern er registriert ist. Und dass es dann offizielle oder offiziellere Repos gibt, wie die von OpenSuse oder das Mozilla Repo, dass von Mozilla gepflegt wird. Jetzt bin ich aber über die Paketsuche der OpenSuse Website einmal auf der OBS Paket des Thunderbird gegangen und habe mir die URL angesehen und komme zu folgendem Verzeichnis: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.2/i586/ das auch admine angegeben hat, von dem ich bis eben dachte es wäre das Mozilla Repo.

Also befinden sich alle nicht von OpenSuse/Novell erstellten Paket im OBS?
Und was sind Factory Repos - sind die sicherer als OBS oder auch nur eine Untergruppe des OBS?

Dann sag doch mal welches Update du sonst erwartet hast? Aufgelistet sind jedenfalls alle verfügbaren Versionen. TB 3.0.3 aus dem Updaterepo gibt es einfach (noch) nicht.

Dann sag doch mal welches Update du sonst erwartet hast? Aufgelistet sind jedenfalls alle verfügbaren Versionen. TB 3.0.3 aus dem Updaterepo gibt es einfach (noch) nicht.

Das habe ich unten erwähnt - war mein Irrtum - ich wusste nicht dass das Mozilla Repo Untergruppe des OBS ist.

Bezüglich "noch nicht"? Es gab den TB 3.0.3 im Repo, aber Mozilla selbst ist noch bei 3.0.2. Wie funktioniert das, dass das Repo schneller ist als Mozilla?

Hatte ich gelesen, aber so richtig schlau werde ich jetzt nicht, wer diese Repos erstellt.
Aufgrund dieses Threads hatte sich meine Vermutung bestätigt, dass da jeder seine Pakete einstellen kann:

Alle "offiziellen" Pakete der Distribution findest du in OSS, Non-OSS und Update (Hersteller openSUSE). Der Rest schwimmt im BuildService und wird von der Community gepflegt. Wobei streng genommen auch der BuildService eine externe Paketquelle ist.

Übrigens gibt es den TB offizell doch in Version 3.0.3? Das "noch" bezog sich darauf, dass es keinen "offiziellen" Patch aus dem Updaterepo gibt (ob der kommt sei mal dahingestellt).
