Darstellungsproblem mit Cheese

Hallo,
als Linuxanfänger bitte ich um Unterstützung.
Seit meinem letzten Update, möglicherweise auch dem letzten Kernelupdate
erscheint unter Cheese immer eine Art Testbild.
Dargestellt sind Längsstreifen von weiß, gelb über rot und grün zu blau.
Im rechten unteren Quadranten erscheint ein kleines recheckiges Bild,
dass aussieht, wie ein Fernsehbild, ohne Antenne. Bevor ich updatete
wurde die Kamera angesprochen und sendete ein Bild.
Den Treiber (uvcvideo) habe ich aktualisiert. Die Kamera
ist in der Hardware als usb 2.0 camera mit diversen Einträgen in yast
unter Hardware- Informationen gelistet. Ich gehe also davon aus, dass
irgend eine wichtige Datei fehlt.
Wer hat eine Vorstellung, was fehlen könnte?
Mein Rechner hat folgende Konfiguration:
Betriebssystem: openSuse (11.0) 2.6.25.18-0.2-default x86_64, KDE
4.1.2. release 48.1
Die Kamera ist in den Rechner eingebaut.

Anfänglich war meine Überlegung, dass JAVA dafür verantwortlich ist. Jedoch könnte es eventuell auch sein, dass uvcvideo in der gegenwärtigen Form noch Probleme mit dem letzten Kernelupdate hat?
