[gelöst]VLC startet nicht

Hallo, seit vorgestern startet mein VLC 0.8.6d nicht mehr. Jetzt habe ich openSUSE 10.3 ganz neu installiert. Alle Multimedia Eigenschaften funktionieren, k3b, Kino, amarok, Xine. Nur VLC hängt beim Starten.

es kommt beim Start von der Konsole folgende Fehlermeldung:

Das ist jetzt der zweite Thread wo ich von deinen Problemen lese.
Hast du ein update gefahren wir schlagen uns alle gerade mit einem Bug des X11 Systems rum.

Scheint nicht nur bei Dir so zu sein! Ich habe gestern Suse10.3 bei meinem Sohn installiert und habe genau dasselbe Problem! Wenn VLC über das kde-Menü gestartet wird, dreht sich das Icon in der Leiste und beendet sich dann wieder nach einiger Zeit, Beim Starten aus der Konsole bekomme ich dieselbe Fehlermeldung! Hmm...
Jetzt habe ich es gerade bei meinem Rechner ausprobiert. Genau dasselbe Problem!!!
Dürfte ein Bug sein... :(
Vermutlich hängt das mit dem xorg-X11 Update von vorgestern zusammen? :?:

Ich sehe schon, da haben andere mal wieder schneller geschrieben. Zwei-Finger-Adler-System geht eben langsam. :oops:

Ich habe im Netz nach dem Fehler gegoogelt. Er ist auch bei Mac Usern aufgetreten. Ja, das hat tatsächlich was mit einem X11 Update, was ich nicht selbst angestossen habe zu tun. Ich jedenfalls habe erst einmal das automatische online update deaktiviert.

Und nun kommt eine Zwischenlösung die bei mir funktionert.

In der xorg.conf folgendes eintragen:

Section "Extensions"
Option "MIT-SHM" "no"
EndSection

Sie stammt aus dem debianforum.de.

Bei mir läuft der vlc jetzt wieder.

Ich glaube das war's! Hab ich gerade ausprobiert und VLC geht wieder. Kannst Du imho als gelöst markieren!

Ich müsste jetzt nur noch wissen, wie man in der Konsole mc aufruft. Leider kenne ich mich noch ziemlich wenig mit der Konsole aus, wenn ich einfach nur "mc" (als root) eingebe, kommt nur "Command not found".

Zum Vergrößern anklicken....
Das ist der Midnight Commander.
Puh wird der etwa default mässig nicht mehr installiert. :roll:
Installier sie dir nach oder mach es mit emacs,vi oder einem anderen Editor als root.

Ich komme mit dem Editor noch nicht ganz klar, wirds da irgendwann auch mal ein Update geben, indem der Fehler beseitigt wird?
Unbedingt brauchen tu ich den VLC nicht, hauptsache, daß das Browser- Plugin funktioniert, damit gibts keine Probleme und meine Videos kann ich auch über Kaffeine ansehen.

Wenn Du mit dem Editor (vi) nicht klarkommst, kannst Du zur Not die xorg.conf auch z.B. mit kwrite oder kate editieren:
Konsole => su => root-passwort eingeben =>
Code: 
 kwrite /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Zeile ändern, speichern und kwrite schließen. Das war's!
Sicherheitshalber vorher ein Backup machen, das kann extra Leben bringen! ;)

Hi Forum,
Da ich schon 1000 Tips hier gelesen habe, habe ich mich mal angemeldet und gebe mal meinen Senf dazu.

Alles recht und gut:

Section "Extensions"
Option "MIT-SHM" "no"
EndSection

danach startet Kaffeine DVB nicht mehr habe xorg downgrate gemacht jetzt läuft alles wieder.
Nur nervt jetzt das update.....

Ich hab grad bei mir mal DVB-T über Kaffeine gestartet und habe auch Probleme. Alerdings startet DVB-T bei mir, weil ich aber einen neuen Benutzer angelegt habe, musste ich die Programme neu suchen.
Es werden auch welche gefunden, nur werden keine Namen angezeigt, sondern nur noch das hier:

Wenn ich dann eins der gefundenen Programme Starten will, stürzt Kaffeine ab mit der Fehlerausgabe:
