[solved] Konfiguration von Nouveau Treiber

Ich habe hier nach der Installation von Suse 13.1 den Nouveau Treiber und finde aber unter /etc/X11/ keine Datei mit dem Namen xorg.conf. Muss ich die Datei selber erstellen. Hier auf der Seite steht
Damit der neue Treiber genutzt werden kann, muss zunächst die X.Org-Einrichtungsdatei /etc/X11/xorg.conf angepasst werden (root-Rechte werden benötigt).
In "Infozentrum" > "Grafische Informationen" > OpenGL steht der nouveau Treiber.
Warum fehlt die xorg.conf bei mir? Habe nur die xorg.conf.install, siehe unten

Nichts, die xorg.conf wurde schon vor längerer Zeit entfernt, dafür ist jetzt alles einzeln unter /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ zu finden.

Du suchst:
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/05-glamor.conf
und:
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-device.conf
, wozu auch immer, da eigentlich unnötig.

Möchtest du dennoch lieber die xorg.conf verwenden, dann musst du diese erst erstellen.

OK die xorg.conf wird nicht mehr benötigt, aber wo kann ich die Auflösung von meinem Monitor einstellen.
Gehe ich zu ´Systemeinstellungen´ > ´Anzeige und Monitor` dann finde ich keine Möglichkeit was zu ändern.

Ich werde verrückt noch hier. Nach dem Versuch NVIDIA Treiber zu installieren und nach dem Abbruch wegen der Meldung: "The Nouveau kernel driver carrente in user... und dann The device is incompatible witth the NVIDIA driver...." habe ich jetzt unter KDE Infozentrum das hier: VMware.
Die Monitor Auflösung hat sich auch automatisch geändert, ich schätze so auf 1024x768.
Die Einstellmöglichkeit ist aber unter Systemeinstellungen > Anzeige und Monitor immer noch nicht vorhanden.

nouveau braucht kernel mode setting (KMS), diese Kombination funktioniert bei Dir offenbar nicht richtig
([ 17.336] (II) UnloadModule: "modesetting"), daher wird der frame buffer-Treiber verwendet, und der kann nicht mehr als 1024x768.

Nein, ich bin in ´init 3´ gewechselt.

Keine Ahnung wie das zu Stande kam. KDE Infozentrum zeigt als Treiber VMware.

In /etc/modprobe.d/ habe ich jetzt eine nvidia.conf Datei mit dem Text => blacklist nouveau

Würde sagen - installiere jetzt auf init 3 den nvidia Treiber nochmals ....l
Eigentlich das wollte ich, aber im Moment hätte ich gerne gewusst wie komme ich zurück zu nouveau Treiber. Es wurden zwei Meldungen bei der nvidia-install ausgegeben und die letzte Meldung habe ich wahrscheinlich falsch quittiert.

Ich muss schon sagen dass das KDE-Infozentrum hat mich angelogen mit der VMware.
An der stelle wo jetzt VMware steht hat vorher der nouveau Treiber gestanden, eigentlich sollte hier jetzt der framebuffer (oder fb) stehen. Hier zwei Bildschirmfotos zu dem KDE- Infozentrum:

Das die xorg.conf nicht mehr existiert bin ich momentan am suchen wo die alle Einträge zu GRAKA, Monitor usw. zu finden sind.

Du wirst nichts finden, die freien Treiber kommen mittlerweile in fast allen Fällen ohne Konfigurationsdateien aus (daher enthalten 50-device.conf, 50-monitor.conf und 50-screen.conf in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d standardmäßig nur Kommentare). Lediglich fglrx und nvidia erstellen üblicherweise noch eine xorg.conf.

P. S. VMware ist für Mesa und Gallium zuständig, daher scheint die Firma als Hersteller auf.
