Totem startet kurz, Fenster blinkt kurz auf, dann isses weg.

Speicherzugriffsfehler

Gmplayer startet zwar fehlerlos, aber es greift nicht auf die DVD zu. Die existiert für GMplayer gar nicht.

Mplayer (mplayer /dev/sr1) startet, öffnet ein Fenster aber kein Bild. Sondern hin und her hüpfende kleine Klötzchen. Kurz danach wird es auch beendet.

Habe alles an relevanten Codecs installiert, was Yast geliefert hat.

Was mache ich verkehrt?

Du könntest auch mal, so nebenher, die Ausgaben von:

Ich dachte schon, das sei aus diesem Jahrtausend :D

Aber: Habe gestern mal einen Videostream runtergeladen und mit mplayer aus der Konsole gestartet. Das hat funktioniert. Allerdings nicht mit GMplayer und auch nicht mit Totem.

An der Graka sollte es demnach nicht liegen. :???:

Was meinst du mit "Konsole"? Ein Terminal Fenster oder eine echtes TTY? Mit welchen Output Treiber?

Das Ding ist jetzt nicht wirklich der Bringer, siehe http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ATI_Rage_Mobility_M
Wenn der Chip nicht mal Truecolor bei SVGA Auflösung bringt geht 3D nicht. Damit dürte das Ganze OpenGL und XV Geschwurbel wegfallen.
Unter welcher Auflösung läuft das Ding denn, poste mal die Ausgabe von xdpyinfo

Terminal Fenster. Bei nem echten TTY hab ich ja normalerweise keine Graphik.

Wenn der Chip nicht mal Truecolor bei SVGA Auflösung bringt geht 3D nicht.

3D? Ist eine ganz normale Video-DVD. Ich habe nix 3D-fähiges, von meinen eigenen Augen mal abgesehen. Und die DVD läuft auf jedem stinknormalen Videoplayer, Ramschangebot von 2004.

Ich vermute eher, da fehlen irgendwelshe Codecs.

Warum totem aber nicht laufen will - keinen Schimmer. Mit der DVD hat das jedenfalls nix zu tun.
