wlanproblem / collectNWData.sh

Hallo zusammen,

ich hab ein nerviges Problem mit der Wlan-Verbindung unter Suse 10. Ich hoffe, ihr könnt mir helfen, alleine hab ichs leider nicht geschaft, obwohl ich das halbe Internet durchgelesen habe :D

collectNWData.sh-Protokoll sagt folgendes:

Entweder Networkmanager (empfohlen) oder das ganze separat per Yast einrichten. Nichtbeides gleichzeitig. Am Besten die Einstellungen im Yast löschen und das WLAN mit dem Networkmanager einrichten. Wenn es dann noch nicht läuft, das Skript nochmals durchlaufen lassen.

wie/wo finde ich denn den Networkmanager? ich finde nur den Network Manager Editor (Edits the wireless networks used in Network Manager), also muss der doch irgendwo zu finden sein?

ja, unter yast ist der (K)networkmanager aufgelistet. (gibt es einen Unbterschied zwischen Knetworkmanager und Networkmanager?). Dann müsste ich den doch auch aufrufen können, kann man darauf irgendwie durch die ordner zugreifen?

ja, zwei jahre support. brauch ich für das update aber nicht auch internet?

mhmm ich will ja kein Linux parallel zu Windows, sondern nur Linux, oder ist das dort auch erklärt? wobei ich eigentlich erst gerne mal das Wlan zum Laufen bringen würde, bevor ich dann auf Suse 11 umsteige.

Den Networkmanager hab ich jetzt gefunden, der ist ja unten in der Menüleiste, nur war mir das nicht bewusst, dass er das ist.

habe dann mal einfach den Namen meines Wlan-Netzwerkes eingegeben und versucht, eine Verbingung herzustellen, geht aber nicht.

collectNWData.sh meint: "Netzwerk Karte wlan0 hat keine IP Adresse"...

wird im Network Manager Editor eigentlich das Netzwerk angezeigt werden, wenn eines da ist oder muss dazu eine Verbindung aufgebaut sein?

wpa_supplicant mit Yast installieren und die WLAN Karte im Yast bearbeiten. Wie Du das machst steht hier: http://www.linux-club.de/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=95352 und in Foren steht genug dazu.

Mal so eine Frage nebenbei: Brauchst du als Privatperson eine "Suse Linux Enterprise Edition" ? Denn diese Distri wird hauptsächlich für Großfirmen konzipiert, um Serverlösungen wie SAP oder Netzwerke mit über 100 Rechner zu realisieren.
Wenn du als Privatperson sowas nicht brauchst, nimm dann die neue Distribution "openSUSE" damit hast du eigentlich auch alles an Bord, was du als normaler Mensch brauchst...

@SUSEDJAlex: Nö eigentlich brauch ist die nicht... war halt nur vorinstalliert, deswegen hab ichs genutzt. was wären für mich denn die vorteile, wenn ich auf opensuse umsteige? Wie ist das mit der internetverbindungsherstellung? einfacher? das wäre für mich dann schonmal ein guter grund? :D oder einfach beides? :???:
