Suse 10.1 Intel Pro/wireless 2200bg

Ich hab ein kleines Problem.
Mein Wlan funktioniert nicht mehr unter Suse 10.1.
ich habe auch alles so gemacht wie man es machen soll.
ieee80211 installiert
ipw2200 installiert
ieee80211 lässt sich auch über modprobe starten nur ipw2200 nicht.
da kommt ne Fehler meldung:
FATAL:Error inserting ipw2200 (lib/modules/2.6.16.../kernel/drivers/net/wireless/ipw2200.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

Ich bin verzweifelt. kann mir da jemand weiterhelfen. auf Suse 10.0 hats funktioniert. ich will aber net mehr Suse 10.0 da ich 10.1 besser finde.
Allein schon wegen den Display Treiber die von anfang an bei Suse 10.1 funktionieren bei 10.0 musste ich bis jetzt immer noch voll viel umstellen damit das überhaupt klappte.

Hallo Meckie,

wurde deine WLAN-Karte von Suse erkannt.

Wenn ja musst du nur von der 6. CD (AddOns) den ipw-treiber installieren.

Ich habe auch erst versicht alles von Hand zu installieren, und es hat nicht funktioniert.

Und jetzt ... Siehe da Notebook mit WLAN online ...

Deine Version von ieee80211 passt nicht zur verwendete Version von ipw2200. Lade dir einmal die aktuellen Versionen herunter (wo es die gibt, steht im gepinnten Thread).

Also der Tip mit der Addon Cd war super, mein Netz geht jetzt auch endlich, ebenfalls mit nem Intel 2200!
Aber es reicht aus, wenn man nur den Treiber lädt, z.B. von da:
UNi FTP
 
Nun habe ich auch auf meinem Laptop einmal das neue Linux installiert. Merkwürdigerweise tritt hier auch das Phänomen auf, dass das System mit aktuellen selbst kompilierten Treibern nicht läuft sondern nur mit den mitgelieferten. Daran ändert auch die von Hand einkopierte Firmware nichts.
Ich werde das einmal untersuchen.

Also bei mir gehts immer noch nicht. ich versteh das nicht. Ich hab mir auch mal das rutergeladen wie cashFlow aber es geht einfach nicht. muss ich noch was anderes machen außer das zu installieren. kann es vielleicht daran liegen, dass ich Wlan nicht über einem Schalter am notebook an und aus machen kann sondern nur über "FN"+"f2" Taste??? ich verzweifle hier noch

@ Mecki: genau daran kanns liegen! Solche Knöppe brauchen einen Treiber :( Kann man nur hoffen, dass Dein Notebook nicht in die absolute Billigkategorie gehört, sodass sich jemand schon mal die Mühe gemacht hat, einen zu schreiben... Auf den Hersteller würd ich da mal nicht zählen.

Überprüf doch am besten mal, ob sich da was tut, indem Du eine Konsole verwendest:

und dann einfach mal die Tastenkombi betätigst. Das sollte Reaktion zeigen.

Also bei mir tut sich dann nix. nur wenn ich zum beispiel die kombination "FN"+"F5" drücke dimmt sich der monitor wie er soll, jedoch zeigt sich dabei dann auch keine reaktion im terminal.
 
Wenn dein Laptop für diese Tasten ACPI-Events generiert, gibt es eine schöne und einfache Möglichkeit, die per Skript umzusetzen.
Hier ist die Datei listen_sock.pl aus dem acpi4asus-Projekt:

Wie du vielleicht bemerk oder gesehen hast hab ich noch nicht so die Erfahrung mit Linux. Hiermit möchte ich alle schonmal danke für die vielen Antworten. Aber was soll ich machen das check ich jetzt nicht Freecoffee. Kannse mir das vielleicht genauer erklären und in wiefern hilft das bei meinem Problem
 
Du kopierst den Text in grün oben in eine Datei namens listen_sock.pl und führst dann in der Konsole ein "perl listen_sock.pl" aus. Dann drückst du die fraglichen Tasten(kombinationen) und schaust, was sich in der Konsnole tut.

dann blinkt nur noch ein schwarzer Cursor in dem Terminal und wenn ich was drücke tut sich nix mehr
 
Beim Starten von listen_sock.pl mit perl sollte sich auch zuerst nichts tun. Erst wenn du eine Tastenkombination wie z.B. Fn+F5 drückst, sollte dort ein Code erscheinen.
Wenn das nicht der Fall ist, generiert dein BIOS leider keine ACPI-Events für die Funktionstasten. Dann ist da softwareseitig wohl nichts zu machen.

Also der gibt da nix zurück mit perl.Ich hab mal bei Yast in den Einstellungen der Wlan karte geguckt, da konnte ich einstellen, dass er direkt bei systemstart die karte einschaltet. also die lampe leuchtet dann aber immer noch nicht. Was heißt das jetzt für mich. geht das garnicht. und warum hat intel keine anderen Treiber. Also langsam finde ich ist Windows XP ein Segen, wenn ich all meine Probleme mit Linux in betracht ziehe. Was bringt mir ein stabiles System, wenn ich die Hardware dort nicht vernünftig installieren kann. Naja vielleicht ist Linux nur als Server zu gebrauchen. Aber ich kenn mich da ja nicht so aus.

Neinnein, Du hast da schon voll den Durchblick. Linux ist ein ziemliches Scheißbetriebssystem, was echt mal gar nichts kann. Auf dem Desktop hat das echt Null verloren, und auch auf nem Server kann der Serverraum nicht dunkel genug sein, dass man bloß nix davon sieht. Die Profisoftware WindowsXP vom Weltmarktführer Microsoft ist deshalb ja auch überall vorinstalliert, eben weils besser ist, ist doch klar. Wenn Linux besser wäre, dann wäre ja Linux vorinstalliert, wir sind schließlich in einer freien Marktwirtschaft, und da setzt sich ja bekanntlich das bessere durch. Du musst Dich auch nicht schämen oder so, dass Du Linux die Schuld dafür gibst, wenn bei billigen Schrottnotebooks nur softwaregesteuerte Tasten drin sind, sodass man einen Treiber braucht, welchen der Hersteller nur für Windows bereitstellt... Ich mein: wen soll man denn sonst dafür verantwortlich machen, wenn nicht Linux?! Da kann ja Windows nix dafür, dass Linux da nix kann.

Überhaupt isses für Dich und Deinen Lebenslauf eh besser, wenn man Dich nicht mit diesem Bastelzeug in Verbindung bringen kann. Eine gesunde Anspruchsmentalität zeigt schließlich, dass Du selbstbewusst bist, und es Dir leisten kannst, von anderen Höchstleistungen zu verlangen. Auch unentgeltlich. Ich sag immer, nur das beste is für mich gut genug. Das solltest Du auch für Dich zur Maxime machen, und schleunigst diesem Linux den Rücken zukehren, vertrau mir.

Ob die Lampe leuchtet oder nicht, ist vom Funktionieren der Karte erst einmal völlig unabhängig.
Um die Sache einfach zu halten, würde ich an deiner Stelle - solltest du weiter an einer Lösung abseits der von mada angesprochenen Ausweichalternative interessiert sein - die Konfiguration in YaST auf das traditionelle Verfahren mit ifup umstellen. Dann kannst du mittels /sbin/ifconfig sehen, ob die Karte überhaupt eingeschaltet ist.
