SuSE Linux 9.2 und Gigaset USB Adapter 11

hallo,

ich komm einfach nicht weiter mit dem teil...

Ich hab die Wireless-tools und die atmel firmware installiert...

Aber ich kann das teil nicht konfigurieren....mithilfe der alten threads komm ich nicht wirklich weiter...

Kann mir jemand helfen??

PS.: sorry, bin noch linuxanfänger

Ich hänge mich gleich an - habe es genau so gemacht wie in den beiden anderen threads beschriben. atmel firmware installiert - Gigaset USB Adapter 11 aus und angesteckt - keine Reaktion.

Im Suseplugger habe ich unter unbekannten Geräten "Askey Computer..." und "Atmel 4 Port Hub".
Von selber passiert gar nichts und wenn ich im Suseplugger auf "einfügen" klicke fragt er mich nach dem pw und behauptet er hat die treiber geladen und das Gerät ist betriebsbereit.

Unter yast -> netzwerkgeräte -> netzwerkkarten ist kein wlan gerät aufgelistet. :(

Ich habe im Rechner noch eine normale Netzwerkkarte (fürs Internet DHCP) die funktioniert und 2 Weitere Karten (Onboard-LAN und eine weitere alte Karte) habe ich nicht konfiguriert und können vom System ignoriert werden.

Ich bin schon am Verzweifeln, weil mit dem 9.2 das wlan angeblich super leicht zum einrichten sein soll.

Bin für jede Hilfe dankbar, damit ich WIN endlich komplett loswerden kann.

Hi,
unter Yast sollte zumindest ein nicht konfiguriertes Gerät bei Netzwerkkarten auftauchen. Wenn dem so ist, mal dieses Gerät richtig konfigurieren, also ESSID eingeben, Wireless-Mode Managed; Verschlüsselung würde ich erst mal weglassen.

Nein, nichts - bei den Netzwerkkarten ist kein noch nicht konfiguriertes Gerät. :(
Es ist wirklich zum Heulen - 1 Woche 9.2 und ich bekomme nicht mal das besch*** WLAN hin. :evil:

Hallo Leute
um es kurz zu machen ich habe die gleichen probs wie seemeister & BLACKout

ich habe einen P3 550MHz mit Realtek PCI Netzwerkkarte ...

Während der Installation von Suse 9.2 Prof hatte ich meinen WLAN USB Adapter 11 angeschlossen - deshalb auch keine "Installation und erkennung im herkömmlichen Sinne"

Das Gerät wird wie bei seemeister als Askey Comuter Corp [hex] Unclassified device im Suse Plugger unter Unbekannt angezeigt (Auswerfen / Einfügen bringen mich an der Stelle nicht weiter)

Im Yast habe ich das gleiche Prob
es wird kein Gerät (unter Andere) angezeigt das ich konfigurieren könnte
Meine PCI Ethernet Karte habe ich erstmal deaktiviert

wenn ich jetzt manuell eine WLAN USB Verbindung herstellen möchte kann man zwar alles einstellen (ESSID, DHCP ...) aber ohne ergebnis

Soweit ich mich belesen habe bringt es eh nichts im yast rumzuklickern wenn nicht mal iwconfig ein ergebnis bringt

ansonsten habe ich folgende module installiert
kdenetwork 3 - wireless; km_wlan; ndiswrapper; wireless tools;
atmel firmware
wobei die Version auf der Install CD (v 1.0-2) für i586 Architektur ausgelegt ist (laut install info ...) ich habe die v 1.1-1 für i386 installiert

von wegen neu anstöpseln oder ähnlichem habe ich alles probiert

dann habe ich mir dem ndiswrapper versucht die win treiber zu übernehmen
für den WLAN Adapter gibt es 4 verschiedene Treiber (wobei mein XP den nv5a8as.inf verwendet) ich habe alle 4 probiert ohne erfolg
als status für ndiswrapper -l bekomme ich : device not plugged in (oder ähnlich)

nun ja jetzt geht mir langsam mein latein aus
- wie kann man den unclassified Askey Device konfigurieren
- http://www.linux-wlan.com/index.html sollte man das probieren ??? denn auf der seite wird der gigaset usb 11 als supportet aufgeführt nur hab ich ein wenig respekt irgendwie den kernel neu zu compilieren wenn mir da jemand eine schritt für schritt anleitung (speziell zu diesem Thema) geben könnte wäre das super
- oder wäre es eventuell sogar sinnvoll linux neu zu installieren (ohne USB adapter) und dann irgendwie zu hoffen das alles auf anhieb klappt :lol:

nun ja ich bin für alles aufgeschlossen

Hi,
es scheint so zu sein, daß Siemens mittlerweile einen anderen Chipsatz verwendet. Ich habe einen älteren Gigaset USB 11 problemlos am laufen. Mein Teil hat einen Atmel-Chip und läuft mit verschiedenen Linuxen tadellos.
